Norvell is excellent, but so is Sjolie and Loving Tan
I purchased Norvell “dark”, and I have very light skin. I was frustrated with a lot of different brands because “dark” was not really dark at all. I have been on a long journey to find a good self tanner, here is my honest opinion.Norvell: PROS—it is very lightweight, the scent is nice and light, you forget you have it on when you’re letting it set. I was able to spray it on and blend with a mitt and the coverage was pretty even. It takes a long time to fade, it’s long lasting especially with a tanning moisturizer. I only needed 1 coat instead of going 2-3 coats and taking a ton of time. I don’t feel all sticky and gross after wearing it the 24 hours. The cost is about average with other high quality self tanners.CONS: it did give me strawberry legs, it does not hold up well against sweat or stick-on bras, you do have to let it set for 24 hours.Loving tan is probably the best product I’ve ever used, it never gave me strawberry legs, it didn’t smell bad, you could wash it off after a nights sleep, it lasted well over a week and the fade was super even.Sjolie is my 3rd favorite brand, it does have a bit of a worse odor than Norvell and Loving tan. It never gave me strawberry legs, and if I bought it in bulk it was very fair in price.St Tropez: WAY too expensive, and my product turned all the way green after sitting over the winter. It ruined before I could really test it out.Bondi Sands: is my least favorite, but is still a much better product than something like Tanned AF, Jergens, etc. the SMELL will make you sick all night wishing it was time to rinse. And then your whole room will stink like it for a day. The color is pretty great, I loved the dark color and that it fades pretty good, it’s long lasting, but that smell really killed it for me.**the cheap drugstore brands will end up costing you more in the long run, I tried them all, you’re paying a lot of money for a foaming product that requires double or triple the applications to get the same result. (I’m looking at you, Jergens)Lastly, here’s a pro tip: instead of ruining your sheets or buying a terribly expensive tanning sheet/bag, just buy a lightweight summer sleeping bag and have a nice day. No more changing the sheets, sleeping on towels, ruining comforters. Oh, and buy Norvell, Loving Tan, or Sjolie and try them out.

Beautiful golden tan color
I bought this with a spray tan machine. When my husband was finished spraying me, I though it would be a disaster. I did see drip marks on my skin and we quickly blended them in with a glove. It does have color so make sure you aren't wearing anything you don't want to get stained. When I got up in the morning, my skin did look splotchy but after I showered, it was even. The color was golden tan without any orange at all. It lasted about 5 days and I felt like I just returned from a tropical vacation. I love the look!

Best Tanner!
Love this color- leaves a golden tan and smell is faint. Usually will leave it on overnight and wash off in the morning for the perfect summer glow. I exfoliate well the day before and this always come out perfect every time! Only tanner I will use

The Best!
Let me start by first off saying that I have tried just about every self-tanner out there. I've always struggled with an orangy and/or inconsistant color. I've tried Mystic Tanning - which I found to be just "ok" and spray tans done by professionals @ salons. I found the spray tans to be - by FAR - the most realistic looking tan...but the price was crazy and I couldn't afford to keep it up. I saw that the salon I was going to was using this brand - Norvell Amber Sun Dark and decided to buy it myself. My husband uses this solution in his air compressor (nothing fancy...just a normal compressor) - there are a ton of youtube video's on how to properly tan someone using this method. I LOVE this solution - it is bronzy and not at all orange or brassy looking. There is a smell afterwards but it's not bad...kind of smells like tanning lotion. I like that this has a bronzing agent in it because you can see where it's going and make sure its even. Honestly, I can't imagine using a solution without the bronzer in it - I've tried before and I felt I was working blindly; guessing if it was consistant - and then the next day after it fully develops, it's too late to fix it. I highly recommend this product. I have very fair skin and this Dark solution is perfect for me. Usually I do 2 full passes of this and then we go back to see if we need to "touch up" anywhere. You will be immediately tan so you'll be able to see where you need to apply more. As with all self tanners, it helps to exfoliate first. I always apply the night before (you will feel a bit "tacky" for several hours afterwards) and by the next morning, I can shower to get that extra bronzer off, and the tan remaining is perfect. It definately is on the dark side - but its very realistic. I've gotten SO many compliments on this. I also like the "Venetian" formula....but this one is my favorite. By Day 4 I see fading in areas but it's still ok. Day 5, I simply exfoliate really well to even it out as much as I can and then re-apply. Doing this maintains my tan. This whole bottle is the cost of 1 spray tan in my area. I'd say I get about 8 spray tans out of this bottle and I apply pretty heavily. Highly recommend this product!!

Doesn’t last very long
Really pretty color but the color doesn’t last very long compared to other solutions. Don’t use this anymore because of that.
