Yes... if you set the lid on in correct spot the opening will be on whichever side you want.

lid replacement. I love this mug but when trying to slide the opening to drink it broke. Can I just purchase a replacement lid?

Did the pieces actually break into multiple pieces? Or do you have the slider piece, along with 2 smaller parts? Mine has come apart twice in the 2 years I’ve had it. The lid flipped out of my hand and came apart when hitting the floor. I Also assumed I had broken it. I contacted the actual ELLO company, only to learn they did Not have replaced lids. I put pieces in a baggie and left on counter. To my surprise when my son stopped over he spotted the baggie... the next thing I knew, he was handing me my lid Back Together. I looked at it and told him I Broke it... to which he replied... yep it was, so he put it back together. I have done that twice in the 2 years I’ve had it and both times he put it back together. Which I was asking if the pieces that came out were in multiple pieces, or they just came apart? Because it WILL go back together and work same as New. Mine Still does NOT Leak! I hope it just came apart on you also. I did order a spare cup just in case, because I LOVE this cup So Much! I do know the company told me they did not intend to make replacement lids. But look the company up online and drop them a note, just in case. I hope this helps.

Does this fit well in a car cup holder?

I got this travel mug for my wife. She has a Fiat 500 and no complaints about it. It seems to fit just fine in the cup holder. I bought a Fiat decal and personalized the mug for an added surprise.
