Edit: I called the manufacturer back and they will be replacing the camera. I rated 4 stars because I have not received the camera yet.Original review: The MyQ camera stopped functioning within about 30 days. I finally had a moment to call customer service. They said it can not be fixed. Now I’m 3 days past the return date.

I received it today but some of the cameras are already broken and the box was opened already! Even though I try to connect the camera is not working properly and it is not connecting to the network! So I had to return the product! But why l am getting refund for only one item!

I hardly leave reviews but I felt that I had to warn others to stay away from this product.So all my home security cameras are from Eufy brand. They work great, great battery life and I was sold on the Eufy brand because of quality and more importantly the $0 subscription fee.I was looking to covert my garage door opener to a smart opener and this is how I ran into myQ. At the time Eufy didn’t have a smart garage door opener.I gotta say the myQ smart garage door opener works flawless, great app and UI. I’m pretty much happy with the product. After a few weeks of purchasing the myQ smart garage door opener, I realized it would be nice to have a camera that could easily mount on the garage door opener itself. Again Eufy didn’t have this type of camera at the time so I decided to go with the myQ camera.First of all, It is my fault that I didn’t read the product description thoroughly because I thought this camera came equipped with an inbuilt battery unit.After I received the product I quickly learned it was a corded unit and ONLY. This was somewhat of a bummer because I thought I was getting a good deal at the purchase price. Now looking at the price, I think the camera is way overpriced given that it is pretty much a lens encased in a plastic body.During installation, I decided to go ahead and use the camera since I had access to an outlet (garage door opener outlet).So far everything works very well as advertised. I receive notifications when motion is detected and other typical camera features. And I am a happy customer.After I ran out of the free trial (30 days or less), I quickly learned that I CANNOT use the basic functions of camera such as real time push notification when motion is detected. I have no way to check events detected by the camera. At this point it is pretty much a see through mirror. That is how frustrated I am.And out of principle, I wouldn’t pay a dime to this company to use basic features of a camera that is already overpriced. My best bet at this time is replace the camera with something else.

I wish the cord was longer but that's the only negative thing I have to say. It was easy to connect to my existing system. The quality is top notch. The picture quality is extremely clear. I love that it's magnetic and the magnet is extremely strong and durable. I highly recommend this garage camera.

Product is great but install was terrible.I purchased the outside camera. I’m not sure why they would send drywall screws for something that is intended for outdoor use.I wanted to install this camera on brick and mortar. I purchased two 1 1/4 inch mortar screws from Home Depot (the blue ones that have the t25 star head). The screws of the head to need to sit flush with the base so I had to heat the head of the screw (I suggest using a stove to heat the head of the screw. Use pliers for holding screw), and then melt the plastic around the holes on the camera base (do not push too hard. You don’t want the screw head to go all the way through). I also had to make the holes bigger so the screw to will sit flush. All in, it took 3 hours for install.You’ll also need a 3/4in brick and mortar drill bit and a drill that has the hammer function so you can drill through the brick so the power cord will fit through the wall.Cameras great though.

Easy install. Video and sound works great. Will see if i want to subscribe to a video recording plan once the 30 day free plan expires. Plans start at $19.99, $39.99, and $99.99 per year. Probably going to purchase more myQ cameras.
