Works great!!
Bought this to bundle gaming rules and scenarios. (and maybe grade school projects) It's a bit of a pull to punch through 20 pages, but it did just fine, ditto with two of the clear plastic covers. One caveat is that the pullout margin depth gauge - there ARE three clicks to it, but they don't line up with the color-coded marks. The 6mm label never pulled out far enough to actually see, so it took a bit of careful fiddling, but I was able to feel each of the three points by being careful. The spiral winder again took a couple of practice tries - hold everything tightly together, and keep the spiral lightly pressed to the bottom where the roller and body of the machine meet. I had a couple of wires get sucked into the machine, and the spiral didn't always make it through both sides of the packet. For the price, this was an absolute steal! ^_^

Does everything you need for coil binding
This is my third spiral binding machine, and really it's the one I'm most impressed with. I replaced the first one because it didn't meet my needs, and I replaced my second one because servicing it got to be too expensive. This does everything in one. It's not just a basic hole punch. Every hole is independently disengageable to turn on or off as needed, based on the size of the paper you are punching. There is an adjustment lever to make the holes closer or farther from the spine of the page; normally you'll want the closest setting but for more durability you can pick one of the more offset settings. You can also shift the paper relative to the holes to get the holes perfectly centered for any size of paper. It also has a built-in coil inserter, which is really just a rubber drum that spins from a motor to drive the coil into the paper. Also included are some useful accessories -- a pliers/cutter for crimping the ends of the plastic coil, 100 clear cover sheets, and 100 binding coils for making smaller books, just to get you started. It also has a perforated card for your first few punches to clean the machine oil (leftover from manufacturing) off the brand new dies before you start making your real punches. The value of this is incredible. It's priced at the low-end, but it has the functionality of the high-end. You could spend 5x as much to get comparable features from the competition. And it meets the specs. It claims to punch 20 sheets of paper at a time, and it means it. It requires a little extra force to do the maximum but I was able to bind a 300 page book in minutes thanks to being able to do 20 pages at a time. My previous machine claimed to do 17 but really can only reliably do 12-15, but this one honestly does 20 pages of 20 pound US Letter paper at a time. The coil inserter is ribbed to grab the coils, and I think this works better than the smooth drum that some competitors have. There is no foot-pedal to control it like some; it just has an on/off switch, but honestly that's just fine since it isn't a problem to just leave it on while you are binding multiple books. It takes a little technique to get it going, but once you've learned how to use it it's a big time-saver. Just remember to manually feed the coil through the first 3-4 holes before using the motorized drum to finish the job, and use the right angle and pressure for the size of the binding.I only have two minor complaints. First, the handle pulls down over the paper you are cutting, so if you are holding the paper with one hand, it's a bit awkward as the handle comes down on your other wrist. Some other similar machines use a single lever on one side to avoid this problem. Second, there does not appear to be any way to order spare parts. With my other comparable binding machine, I found the dies wear out after punching tens of thousands of pages and need to be replaced, and other parts tend to wear with time also. But then again, this whole binding machine costs less than a set of dies for my other machine, so when these wear out you can just buy a new machine. It remains to be seen how long this will last.
