This light is great! I am using it as a task light for fly tying. The variable brightness and variable color temperature are very useful feature and both function well. The range of intensity is also useful, although I have mostly used it toward the max intensity.I tested it as a reading light and it work well for that too! I may buy another for my desk.

I just set up this lamp - my second attempt. Threading the base pole onto the base did not work because it felt like one or the other piece was defective e.g. poorly threaded so that the pole was catching. I did not want to damage anything. I tried joining them upside down - with the heavy base on top of the pole threads while I steadied the pole and turned the base. The two pieces went together very well and I finished setting up the lamp. I like the quality of the light it gives and the many options for both the light it gives and the choices of directional positioning. I do not like the manual because it is absurdly TINY. Impossible to read with even with eyeglasses; it's available on line.My Honeywell HEPA air cleaner is a real workhorse. I hope for the same with this purchase.

Addressing the review below, no, you don't have to aim the remote at the base of the lamp. The black dot in the middle of the lamp height (see my image) is the IR (remote) receiver.I tried these lights on their own but it was too dim. I found it works best as a supplementary light to add to multiple light sources. My office space is a lot more comfy and enjoyable to sit at now that there's no harsh single point of bright light :-) The lamp works well lighting up the space behind my monitor plus the corner of my desk which has helped reduce contrast and my eye strain.Uploaded images are at max brightness and middle color temperature (~4k?), but I usually use it at lower brightness. Also my camera has glare which it doesnt have irl

BAD. Not flexible enough. Bulky. Value for money is bad, overpriced. Look was ok. The Item itself was flimsy, the joints unstable, kept falling, then the light stopped working too, remote had missing back battery department cover. And this maker Honeywell didn’t provide any care or warranty for the product either, which made the experience with this product even worse.
