Q: Is there a light spring version for disabled with bad wrists?

The return force will be contributed both by the sashlock and springs built in to each of the handle assemblies. You should be able to reduce resistance by neutralising the springs in one of the handles. (To do this on the handles at my house required the use of special circlip pliers.) If you are experiencing stiffness in the lock knob, this may be a result of the handles not being properly aligned to the sashlock; in such a case the handles may need to be moved slightly.

Q: Out of the packet, is this configured for a right hand or left hand fitting? I always ruin locks when I try to change them around.

Inside the room it's set up for outward opening door with the lock/handle on the left.

Q: I have bought this item however the latch is facing the wrong way. Can I safely swap it around or is there another YALE lock with the latch opposite?

The latches are normally easy to swap around.
