Works as promised
Was looking for a USB network adapter not Made in China and after some web research decided to give ALFA a go and while it doesn't specifically say Made in Taiwan on the box (see image), I doubt you'd get anything from Mainland China that says Taiwan on it and the website promises Made in Taiwan, so I'm good with that.Works fine, installation from CD is a tad clunky - fortunately we still have CD-ROM drives on our desktops but going forward, ALFA should make the download driver files a bit easier to find on their website (they're there, under Support > Downloads > WiFi USB adapter > [select model], but not linked from the product description). Still, all in all, very happy.Addendum: So we bought a second one for the office because for some reason the inbuilt Intel wireless struggled to maintain a stable link to the new fibre internet). The second dongle was a bit more of a faff, a) the CD-based installation failed to install the Realtek utility and I had to use the online driver and b) for some reason it wasn't showing all networks even though the PC right next to it was. On the bright side, tech support was very responsive and the problem went away by itself. But in the process I did find out that their recommendation is to have 3-5m distance between dongles. So if you're having issues and have more than one in close proximity, that may be an issue.

Great for Linux use.
I needed a USB wifi adapter use on more than one Linux system. I selected this one as it has a well-known Realtek chipset and was reasonably priced. As I'd hoped, the device was instantly recognized by the OS in each case, so there was no messing about to get it up and running.Operationally, it has great specs and is far superior to the built-in wifi in terms of range and flexibility. Would be happy to recommend.

Quality/price ratio
Good product, this brand is a guaranty. It doesn't work out-of-the-box with all OS, specially for Linux OS distributions. But the drivers installation is pretty easy. Definitely value for money.

Does not work with VMs
Sounded like a nice compact alternative to the other Alfa adapter I have. Unfortunately although VMWare recognises it is a removable device. It does not appear in the settings even if connected.

It has RTL8811AU chipset and is USB 2.0
As a stick to add wifi is ok, although a little outdated. Is seen as this:Realtek RTL8811AU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB 2.0 Network Adaptereven though is plugged directly in USB port 3.0, without any intermediary cable. Tried in other USB 3.0 ports with same result.I hope that chipset info will help you decide if this is what you need.
