Papers that accompanied the product said it was made in China. It is stainless steel and seems to be double insulated. However, I bought the black and copper colored French Press. It is somewhat attractive, but the quality is poor. Mine has pits around the top edge and the bottom is not totally flat. I assume that is why they included a cork trivet for it to sit on, which makes it slightly more stable.

It is not insulated, but it stays hot long enough to enjoy 2nd and 3rd cup.

Q: Does the surface of paint scratch easily?

I've had mine for almost a year and it's held up very well; it still looks great. No scratches.

Q: How do I change the replacement screen?

I grab the top of the lid with my left hand and rotate it to the left by grabbing the bottom with my right hand to remove the filter, conversely, tighten it by grabbing the bottom with my right hand and rotating it to the right.

Lovely little french press but can't take it apart to clean it!

Lovely, sturdy and attractive french press. Bit smaller than I'd like (doesn't fill a mug), but I just top up with hot water. The insulation is irrelevant because it only holds enough for one person.Tried to unscrew to take it apart, but cannot. Therefore, can't clean it. Not sure what's not happening, but it seems to be stuck!
