What temp does it bake at?
Can i just air dry it instead of baking it?
I'm making a very large ball jointed doll and have no idea what clay to use. I'm nervous about what's safe to bake in an oven, like wire and such?
Is this clay sturdy after baking? Would I be able to make faux coins without it breaking in half?

Never used this before….
I was struggling to sculpt larger projects due to weight of clay, this is really good for building a foundation to build on top of and is much easier as smoother to work with than tinfoil.The only thing I don’t like about this is some parts are sticky and some parts are very dry, this means it sticks to your hands, when storing clay, I would keep this well away from coloured clays etc as the white will stick to other lumps of clay!I have got 3 sculptures of about 30cm in height out of one packet of this clay! (Bare in mind, I only made the base structures.

Best bulking there is
Best clay for bulking you can get. Soft and light so not making your creation overly heavy. Can be a bit tricky to work with uf you're on use to it.

Feels like marshmallow
I’m throwing this clay away. It literally feels like a marshmallow and is hard to work. It can’t be carved with details because it distorts the shape whilst you’re working. If you roll it out and cut pieces from it it sticks to the rolling pin and leaves a weird bumpy texture. It can only really be used as a less effective armature base for models. This would require baking the armature first. Just use wire, baking foil and some masking tape instead. All of the examples I’ve seen seem to use this as a base only. It bakes lightly which is the only positive, but the final piece ultimately feels fragile.

I'm nervous about what's safe to bake in an oven, like wire and such?","acceptedAnswer":{"@type":"Answer","text":"For polymer clay, for a large item with articulation, you might consider using Sculpey Ultralight. It's soft, sculptable, moldable, and very light due to its less dense formula. It comes only in white, but can then be covered with other polymer clay for color or design, or painted on directly. The other formulas of clay are heavier and more dense, which I feel makes them less suited to large items. Once baked, Sculpey Ultralight is also very carvable. Because it bakes below 300F, you can include all styles of wire (steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, silver, etc.) as well as glass. We don't recommend putting any sort of plastic into your oven, as it could melt, which smells awful and these odors can be toxic. (The Sculpey Ultralight is non-toxic and safe for a home oven.) Please feel free to send any more questions or concerns, and we're happy to answer them!"}},{"@type":"Question","name":"Is this clay sturdy after baking? Oven-baked clay is truly the way to go for LONG-TERM staying power...I will say however, that this ultra light variety is soft...can be squishy at times (the only caveat as I see it) so if you plan to etch any detailed designs into your coins you may be better off with Sculpey original. Good luck :)"}}]}]}
