Outstanding
Can write as I find and being a closed back was expecting a slightly muffled sound I usual listen through sen hd600 ovation or a Philips fidelio pair both great via headphone amp or just hifi but I get nothing but moans and groans as noise leakage, so the bowers phones came, nicely packaged and a really good quality case, I got the blue colour just because of the price difference bit of a no brainer, well we are about 6 months in now I find build quality great no issues at all, comfort on my big head even when wearing glasses great, battery life is amazing and sound is just another level to my ears, my sons run Sony wm5 and bose both came in more more expensive than the bowers although they were on a great offer for the colour but we are all in agreement they smash the other headphones in every way, if they broke tomorrow I would totally without hesitation just replace with the same like for like. Outstanding in every respect.

Issues with connecting
Really annoying as these are great headphones, when I connected them to my laptop the quality of the sound was great. They look good and feel great to wear. However they refuse to connect to my phone (OnePlus 10T). After some googling there are alot of issues connecting these to android phones of various kinds so be careful

Just astounding headphones.
I have used Sony's noise cancelling headphones for years now. I wanted to upgrade from the Mx4's and I was all set to get the Mx5's until I looked around at alternatives. I plumped for the Bowers & Wilkins ones primarily because (in my opinion) sound quality should always be the first priority for reasonably expensive headphones. And given that the company is an top end audio company I felt that they may know a bit about that. Yeah, apparently compatibility, active noise cancelling and comfort are all hugely important, but if all those are there and the sound quality isn't up to scratch then I'm put off immediately. Luckily these are impressive all round. I'd say Sony's ANC is slightly better and their app is also magnificent, but the comfort of the B & W is top notch, the clamp of the headphones is barely noticeable and the headband is nicely cushioned. You can listen to wired music via the USB or standard cables and the charging is very quick too. But where it excels is in the sound quality out of the box. There is a 2 band equaliser in the app if people want to fiddle about with bass and treble. I listen to Qobuz as my go to streaming app and also have a large selection of flac music files saved on my phone (via Poweramp). Most genres that I listen to (mainly electronic, trance, indie and jazz) sound wonderfully balanced, but it's the overall clarity that distinguishes these from the Sony's. The sound separation is just jaw dropping. The final tick is in how they look, I got the blue ones and they are very stylish to look at indeed. I have had these over a year now with daily use and no issues. Highly recommended.EDIT. Within a week of this review, both earcup pads have started to come loose, which indicates a glue fail. So I am knocking a star off for this as it should last longer than a year. I will speak to B & W as these should still be under warranty.

Disappointing
Charged the set fully on arrival, connected the usb to 3.5mm cable (supplied) to my media player, but no audio. The instructions on the B&W website state that when the cable is connected, bluetooth turns off and you get audio via the cable. But mine didn't.I checked the bluetooth, audio came through, but doesn't sound as clear and defined as I'd hoped. Reconnected the cable, hoping the bluetooth would turn off and the audio would come through the cable, but no. It just kept telling me audibly to connect with bluetooth.Bluetooth isn't lossless, can never be, so was hoping to just use cable as per the website. Didn't work for me, so it's on it's way back for a refund. Quite disappointing.

Major connection issues on Android
Could not get these to connect properly on my Google pixel.Even when I connected eventually the sound was pretty average. Muddy bass and thin treble. This may be resolved with a full bandwidth connection but I couldn't get that to work.
