Yes, it can physically can be removed because there are screws. Although we strongly recommend that the steam inlet cover is not removed. Here are several reasons why we do not recommend. It is not intended to be removed by the user for any reason including cleaning purpose. The part also affects the switch on the bottom that determines that the water has boiled based on the steam and temperature. It is also an important part for turning off the heater, This inlet cover is BPA Free. What would be the intended purpose for removing this piece?

Q: I have the white toaster oven, which is an off white. Is the kettle the same off white as the toaster oven?

I have both the white matte finish tea kettle and the toaster oven. They are the same color. The only drawback on the kettle is that it doesn't hold as much water as a traditional tea kettle. Probably around 16 oz. but I'm not sure.
