Does the job and easy to install
Purchased this fan to replace an earlier version Vent-Axia Solo Plus fan that had expired after 13 years of use. Although there have been some internal design changes (no filter in the new version for example which is no bad thing) the fixing holes, electrical inlet and vent hose are all in the same position, which made the installation a piece of cake. Top marks then Vent-Axia for helping to keep life simple and not messing with the layout/footprint just for the sake of it.

Good venting, plus delay fan function excellent
We've installed the Vent-Axia Solo Plus in our investment rental flats that has no external window, where there was mould on the ceiling. Tenants had previously turned off the old fan because didn't like the noise every time they put the light on, when the fan ran for 20 minutes. The Vent-Axia Solo Plus has a 'fan delay' option. This means that when the light is turned on, the fan won't kick in for approx 4-5 minutes (there are install options to have it delay/not delay and also to adjust the length of delay). The fan will kick in after the 4-5 minutes, so if they have a bath/shower, it then continues to runs after the light is turned off - for 20 minutes to clear the humidity. We now have no issues with mould. For maintenance, we go in twice a year and pull off the fan cover, which is just a push/pull plastic cover, and clear out the dust from the blades with a toothbrush and vacuum. Otherwise it does collect dust being extracted from the air, which eventually gets thick and wet and then inhibits extraction. We have found this is issue for ALL bathroom/toilet fans, so to keep the fan working well, any fan, it is a necessity. I always use Vent-Axia because their fans seem durable, they are relatively quiet. They also have great tech guys in their UK operation who are happy to speak to a non-technical property owner, and answer lots of questions about clearance space, wiring, etc for each property so I get the right model ordered.

Seems ok, but I would think there is better out there
Fitted this in the bathroom, there is a small design fault because the part which you wire in is loose, without the front cover on this blocks the fan and stops it working, so be careful when testing. On high speed this thing is NOISY! - The delay timer delays for 1-4 minutes which is non adjustable, so a bit vague to say the least! It is larger than a normal axial fan so be prepared for this. I hope it lasts, seems to be doing the job though in the bathroom, I can't say the mirrors don't steam up though.

Steam suction is pretty good makes some noise and herculean to put up on the ceiling with a professional
This was difficult to put up on the ceiling as it would have fallen off if the electrician I hired didn't use a lot of nails to make it stand on the plasterboard. It might have been easier to fix on a wall rather than on a ceiling I guess. Once fixed its running fine with the maximum speed setting and clears up the steam much faster than the earlier model of Vent Axia Plus P Solo model that we had. Pleased with its functioning although it does make some noise, which we have got used to now and doesn't seem that much of a problem. On hind sight, it might have been better to get the P model itself as it would have been easier to replace the old model as we had to cut a bit of plaster board in the ceiling to fix this one as this model was slightly bigger than the P model we had earlier and also could have avoided having to put a lot of nails to make it stand (not fall down from the ceiling) and had to cover the gaps with chalk filler. Guessing it will be a nightmare to replace this one if it gets repaired.

Good value and direct replacement for older models
Good product and fits older models profile for direct replacement.Wiring terminals moved slightly, no problem and now much better access. Delay and timer screws now much easier to adjust. Unfortunately they have done away with the washable air entry filter which annoyed me as it kept the fan blades and ducting clean. Note filter still exists on the top level humidity control models. Overall happy as the setting for boost which you can select seems very efficient for moving excess steam/condensation.

noise level

Quiet on high, missing led.
I like these Vent-Axis Centrifugal fans and have several different models installed in my B&B, I always change the settings to "high speed boost" and "delayed start" when installing them.Replaced a previous a fan from same manufacture as the fan had got rather noise after 5 years of use, the old extractor fan had humidity, pull cord and led so was a different model. This model 427478B (T) has the delayed start, says "1-4 minutes" in the manual. Why has the led been removed the manual says only model "P" have no led. The led is useful to let you know that the active delay is on, this seems to be a cost cutting exercise.PS: I wish they would make the start delay just 4 minutes or adjustable but it is not. Who can brush their teeth and get ready for bed in less than 3 minutes and you don't want the fan making a noise when you get into bed, even quiet noises seem loud at night.
