Works well, and quick to apply.
I cleaned our mini's roof for the first time in years with the cleaner from the same brand. And followed up with the waterproofer. For a while now the roof would become saturated with rain. But after one coat of this (using the whole bottle) the rain that same night sat on top of the roof in beads and puddles. I'm very pleased with how quick and easy it was to use.

Pro's: Repels water well even after one coat - Con's: Expensive for such a small bottle.
I've used this product on both a 2001 Vauxhall VX220 canvas roof, and a 2004 VW Beetle Convertible. I've not tried Autoglym's alternative - so can't compare this product - but I hear that it's a good product also.I applied this product to both vehicles following the application of Renovo's Canvas Cleaner (a product which I was less impressed with). Obviously, your external roof surface has got to be clean prior to using the Ultra Proofer, as it will part seal in whatever is showing on your roof, for a time at least.Tip: In addition to whichever cleaning solution you opt for, I found an adhesive roller, like the Caraselle Lint/Pet Hair Remover (£4.50ish) really useful at getting hairs and all sorts of other material off the roof surface. You'd be surprised what it difference this tool makes visually, particularly on roofs more than a few years old.A single 500ml bottle of Ultra Proofer will not go very far if you're clumsy with this liquid or apply it unevenly. Take your time when applying and DO follow the instructions particularly with regard applying the product in a single session if possible. If you have to apply the product over two sessions (as I did once) then try to complete a roof 'panel' at least, and paint the product as far a seam (or join) on the roof material, so that any disparity in the application won't show. The product works well, and both roofs now nicely repel and bead water on the surface. If you use a high-pressure washer, then avoid the roof surface altogether. Rinsing the roof with a high-pressure lance will simply take off any previous weather-proofing straight away.Hope this helps.

Beads water on a soft top like a just-waxed roof.
The media could not be loaded. OK, this stuff is brilliant. I have never used a product lke this, never even thought about it. I just assumed the soft top on my convertible was meant to go damp and dry out as the sun hit it. Hey, I never got wet inside so why would I worry? But this stuff is amazing, it's like putting a plastic shell over your roof which has been polished. I painted my convertible top in about 40 minutes, out of direct sunlight. When it dried I threw a glass of water over it and was amazed - the water literally raced off the top of it! I will try and post a video as I was amazed, this stuff is so simple to paint on (use a normal 2 inch paint brush, or smaller or larger - size really doesn't matter) and let it dry.Tips:Paint from the middle outDon't paint in direct sunlightIF YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING THE ROOF DYE REPAIR., DO IT ******BEFORE****** YOU APPLY THIS STUFF.This product will bead any liquid you put onto a soft top after application, it is brilliant. A 500ml bottle does a medium soft top with a bit left over. Finally make sure you clean it off the paintwork afterwards - you can polish it off but its a pain so catch it quickly.Update April 2016 -I have just re-waterproofed my roof using this great stuff again. I should really have done it last year as it seems that the waterproofing lasts about 1 season, but ran out of time. By way of update I got 500ml to do two coats of the roof again, I think 1 litre as recommended would be overkill. I applied the first coat, waited 4 hours then did a second using a paint kettle and 2 inch brush. To get the proofer to cover the roof you have to "splot" the brush a bit onto the roof and then when it starts to soak in you can spread it with the brush. Again, make sure you don't let the stuff get on the paintwork. This time when it happened I immediately diluted with water and then used a chamois to get off.I have uploaded a couple of pics showing how I applied it, wrapping a dust sheet around the car, with a before pic showing how soaked the roof was normally and an after pic, plus a quick video of just how good this stuff is. It also helped to have the roof raised slightly off of the A pillar so the proofer didn't drip onto the windscreen and caught on a sheet on the inside instead.

Very effective
As other reviews say, this is really effective. Seeing rainwater bead up and roll off is very satisfying!I've been using this stuff for years, and after some experimentation I find the easiest way to apply it is with a small sponge. The first coat is easy enough, but by the time you try to apply the second coat the roof is already pretty waterproof, so the new coat tends to bead and run off. Using a sponge causes the second coat to be absorbed with minimum faff.

Worth it
Bought as part of the kit. Used on a dark blue Boxster roof. Small car, so was sufficient for two coats. Does improve the look dramatically, but beware that it looks great in the garage, and less great in direct sunlight. Lighter than I thought it'd be. Maybe a third coat would have helped. Also, you'll have to mask up the car, and/or be very diligent about wiping up immediately after application. Because it's applied by brush, it gets flicked everywhere, and it also runs downhill onto the winscreen, windows etc.Don't be naive enough to think it'll completely remove scuffs. If the roof was scuffed before, it'll be scuffed afterwards, even if the scuffs are slightly less noticeable. But overall it was worth the money and effort.
