How to Fabricate Automotive Fiberglass & Carbon Fiber Parts

A must have for anyone wanting to fabricate with fiberglass
Hugely informative book wanting to make anything out of fiberglass. The book is primarily geared towards automotive fiberglass techniques but applies to all fiberglass projects. Very informative. Goes over all aspects of working with fiberglass, tools, differences in materials. Very in depth!

The book is a very good read for an introduction into fiberglassing and what materials are available. It provides a lot of basic information and some generalization on how to accomplish certain fiberglassing repairs and techniques. It does have tutorials, but I feel like it is lacking in them. It takes you through a step by step guide with pictures, but then leaves out the final images to show you what the outcome is. I was hoping for a more in-depth read, but I am still glad I bought it. Definitely a good reference book for anyone interested in learning to fiberglass.

An excellent resource.
From a layman’s standpoint this book gives you the knowledge you need to work with fiberglass or carbon fiber. An Excellent resource for anyone wanting to get started in this area. Highly recommended.

BASIC..not a HOW TO..
So firstly the title is "HOW TO Fabricate Automotive: Fiberglass and Carbon Fiber... I saw this in Grassroots Motor Sports magazine as a MUST READ.. and really my disappointment is really with them and not the book...The book does go over the materials and there uses, and what product and tools you need, and then jumps into the restoration of a triumph, and a custom race car they made on a CAD program... It doesn't really go into what they did at each step of how they went about it, but "Here we made a dash board" and "this is a wing"..."this is a giant vacuum chamber you won't have at an expensive fabrication shop".. they reference several projects like replacing headlights with a fiberglass or CF replacement.. sound like an actually useful project.. but goes no further.. they NEVER go into the process of the cover image.. which to me amounts to literary click bait. how do you make the mold? or is there a book this guy wrote on making molds for the production of FG & CF..Basically you get "this is fiberglass" & "this is what we did with it"I would have removed the HOW TO from the title and I would add a star..

one of the better books on this subject
1st - you have to be able to work with materials and use the appropriate safety protection equipment before doing any fabrication - this book was very helpful as a basic primer on the subject - I have read several books and this was quite well done and illustrated.

Bon ouvrage
Bon ouvrage, mais demande probablement plusieurs lectures pour assimiler son contenu.Les exemples de mise en oeuvre sont parfois trop simples.

Excellent service
There few books on this subject and this one covers it nicely. Many workers in this field make this skill out to be a black art. This book brings this skill to everyone.

Not too bad for an intro book
Well documented, and easy to read. Of course it is slanted toward automotive sector, as was the writers intent. However, if you need a far more detailed and hands on learning of the realm of composites I have a recommendation. Not cheap but worth every penny, are the Composite Materials Fabrication Handbook series. There are three books in the series by John Wanberg. I personally prefer these over the "How to Fabricate Automotive Fiberglass...... "
