Great Device, Easy to Set-up

This thing is amazing. We used it in a field that has two little league baseball diamonds. It easily provides coverage for the entire field which is 300 feet in any direction from the device. Very easy to setup as well as a stand-alone unit. I would highly recommend this unit.

Works great!!!

Took me a bit to figure out how to get them connected. I download controller software and put it on my server and then they were found and added. It’s slower than the indoor internet but still over 100mbps. Now there are no dead spots in my yard.

Does what they say it will

I'm impressed. Modem and router upstairs. At times WiFi was intermittently too weak to use downstairs. Worse in the rental unit in the back yard 40' away, even with a TP-link AC2600 WiFi extender halfway down there. 5 years old and not really designed for outdoors. Good, long time tenant was complaining.Ordered it. Arrived next day. Ran R7 to the back of the first story. Once I had everything hooked up properly, which took a few tries, the two bands showed up in my network choices. At least 350mbps. I might get more if I wasn't using cable 20 year old cable.I am only using a single access point.1 thing: Configuring, I didn't see an SSID on the back mentioned in the Quick Setup Guide, and didn't know where I would enter it. Tried using the link they gave and I got "This site can't be reached" I went to TPlink website searched FAQs. First thing that came up was you have to be on the TPLink internet network, not your router's network. The EAP610 looks sturdily built comes with everything you need except the cable. EAP650 looks like it has better antennas and maybe some other features for Just $15 more.

Met My Needs perfectly...

The AX-1800 was the solution to boosting the wireless signal around our pool. The setup was simple and easy. I configured the device as a standalone as I had no need for the management software. My need was to boost our wireless signal to the backyard pool area and beyond. The install was very easy. The included Power over Internet injector worked perfectly and I had a signal in no time. I had an unmanaged switch and a 110v outlet in my attic. I purchased 75' of CAT6 cable along with the AX-1800 and had it all setup and configured in 30 minutes or less. The signal strength on our pool deck went from 16 Mbps to 588 Mbsp. YMMV, but i am thrilled with the results. Best part of all is that the AX-1800 Is paintable. I put 2 light coats of spray paint on it to, as closely as I could, match the exterior color of my house with no signal loss or issues of any kind. Much better look than the stark matte white finish of the item out of the box.

Standalone mode (repeater) works perfectly

Really good as a repeater supporting 6 outdoor Ring units. Picked up the home WiFi which is 100 mbs and delivers 65 mbs outdoors., and one of the devices is 500+ feet away inside a shed. A+ for the money. But… This is a POE unit which means to set it up standalone you must have the POE injector, which is NOT an outdoor rated device. In my case I just shrink wrapped that unit for now. If that fails I’ll need an outdoor POE injector which costs more than this unit(!), or I’ll pull Ethernet through the wall.

ZERO STARS. Deceptive advertising. Not a true mesh access point, Not stating what else is needed.

I bought this because of two issues I am having: 1) My robotic lawnmower looses wifi connection when it is in the far back of my yard, around 300 yards. 2) The security cameras on my workshop looses wifi connection at times, rendering the cameras useless. I tried placing a true mesh router in the workshop. It connect to the mesh network when standing outside, not inside. The problem here is, with the radiant barriers on the building. The siding has a radiant barrier backing, The insulation has a radiant barrier and the interior finished walls have a radiant barrier backing. Basically it has three thin sheets of metal (aluminum foil like) surrounding the entire building. This is to help keep the shop cool in the hot Florida summers. It also stops any type of radio sign from getting in. Please don't say, stick iy in a window. I had the shop built without windows for two reasons, 1) Security 2) Keep the heat out.So I bought this outdoor access point to be mounted above the building. Here is where the issues come in.1) Not a mesh network. This is just a repeater, IF you can get it connected to your wifi network (I could not).a) I could not get it to connected my mesh wifi network.b) Could not get it to connected to the ISP wifiWould only work when connected to a router via an ethernet cable2) No wifi 63) No where in the description does it tell the buyer they need to purchase two ethernet cables.a) A cable to go from the power block to the access point. (This one should have been included)b) A cable to go between the power block and all the way back to your home router.3b defeats the purpose of having a mesh system. I did not want to run a ethernet cable over 200 yards from the house to my work shop. If I was going to do that, I could go with a much more inexpensive option. Just needing a router with an exterior wifi antenna.I wish there was an option for zero (0) stars, here why:1) Not a mesh router/access point. It is a repeater. It might be able to use the same network SID. A true mesh access point does not needing to be hardwired back your mesh hub. I have a mesh network in my home. Only the unit designated as the hub needs to be connected to the internet provider's router. All the other access points use wifi 6 to connect to each other. No ethernet wiring back to the hub needed.2) No wifi 6 as stated only 2.4 & 5. I wanted to use the wifi 6 as the backbone as I have with my other mesh networks.3) Not telling buyers they need to have or buy an ethernet cable long enough to go between their home router and the power block for this access point.4) Not including at least one ethernet cable. The one going between the power block and the access point. Also, this cannot be standard ethernet cable since it will be outside, exposedin to the weather. The Florida summer will dry out, the outer plastic coating in one season. This ethernet cable will need to be weather proof with UV protection.
