Best to use a caulk cap from the outset, but if it leaks in air or you leave it for a very long time ... these are a great replacement top for your solidified caulking (provided it is just hard in the nozzle, which is usually the case). You need to be careful cutting the top off of the caulking tube - stay close to the metal rim so you can keep it square to the tube itself. It isn't necessary that the cut be perfectly smooth, but keeping it square sets the new nozzle up straight, so you can use it just like a new tube.

so far it works well I will have to see how long it last but very good idea I dont have to through out old tubes anymore
