Work well
These work well. Purchased these after our neighborhood began having an issue with rats. Our city decided that it was up to the residents to remedy it. This was the second type of trap I purchased as the first was the plastic type that you bait and snaps shut when they enter it.Believe it or not, they got wise to this type and we kept having to change the bait and location. I went with these because of our dogs. I did not want to use poison. Our city made that choice for me after issuing letters and notices after a neighbor complained about everyone on our block. We have landscaping so the neighbor just assumed they were living in our yard. They were not. We had already taken measures to rid our yard of them. He still had a vegetable garden they were eating out of. Ugh. When they were living under our deck I sprayed between the spaces with bleach solution and also in every burrow hole I could find. They did NOT like it. They mostly use their noses as they don’t see well. I filled the holes back in and put rocks over them as well.I did this repeatedly along w/the first type of traps. I did not care for the baited traps as we killed a few chipmunks in them and that did NOT sit well with me.Needless to say this trap kept the poison contained (also purchased here & was recommended for use w/these) and we could hide them in an area away from our pets. And it’s seems to have been effective. My husband has not seen any more rats in a while but has found a few dead mice which is always a bonus.I have asked my vet if my dogs or neighborhood cats would get sick/die if they got after a poisoned mouse or other animal & they told me that the amount of poison it takes to kill them is very small & should not harm them. I try to take comfort in that but still do not like putting poison out unless we absolutely have to.I really wish our city would have been more proactive in their role & didn’t expect it’s citizens to spend their hard earned money dealing with an issue they let get out of hand. We have probably spent close to $300 “fixing” all of the bs they’ve concocted thanks to this guy. And others have done nada.VERY FRUSTRATING!

Works but bait windows would be better
Why did you pick this product vs others?:These are OK but I wish they had windows to check on the bait that's inside. Working the keys are sometimes a challenge to get it open. They do have 2 entry so that was good and I did know they didn't have windows when I bought them but realize now I should have purchased ones with them. Overall it's a decent size trap and holds a good amount of bait. You can take the metal bars out if you just want to use pellet type bait too.

Controlling the rat population around my garage
We’ve been using these rat bait stations on our farm for a few months now, and they’ve made a noticeable difference in keeping the mice and rat population under control. The design is sturdy and keeps the bait secure from pets and other wildlife, which was a big concern for us. They’re easy to set up and refill, and we’ve seen a significant drop in rodent activity around our barns and feed storage areas. The locking mechanism works well, though it can be a little tricky to open at first. Overall, a solid investment if you need long-term rodent control.

Works on very large rats
Condo construction recently started on a partially wooded and large open field near my house pushing all the wildlife closer. A pack of norway or wood rats (big ones) made their home near our garden and were running between houses and sheds. I used the Victor M925 poison bait paired with the Redtop Outdoor Rodent Bait Station. Checking multiple times a day to pick up any loose bait.In a week, this trap and bait has managed to get 3 large rats(10" to 14" nose to tail). The bait stations continue to work and keep the poison in a secured area through two rain storms and a late April snow storm. The trap is easy to open and refill with bait, but secure enough if you kick it around it won't open or spill the bait. The Victor bait works incredibly fast, one did not even have time to make it out of the station. This is a relief because I was worried it would have time to get somewhere I was unable to clean up or escape to the open where other wildlife could get potentially sick from eating them.If you have a rodent problem, the bait and bait station works incredibly well. Although it is "tamper" resistant, the bait can shake loose if kicked/moved hard enough. It is possible for the bait to be exposed near the holes. You still need to make sure this is not near pets or children. There are lots of squirrels and rabbits running by that leave the stations/bait alone.*Update as of 8/06/24 - identified at least 9 dead rats outside since using trap and bait since purchase.

Works exactly as it should. We are pest free.
My home is close to an apt building which has a dumpster trash bin. I had seen signs of a rat or mouse on my porch. I have tiny dogs so a trap and baits were out of the question. The dogs can not get in these bait traps at all and Mr rat quickly met his demise. I will keep these baited so I don’t have to have any future worries. They are much more pleasing than a trap and hardly noticeable. Easy to bait and are durable and easy to clean without touching the inside. Wash out with a hose and disinfectant with bleach. The rodent goes off and dies. But if you have pets it’s a must to make sure the rodent is not where any pets could have access! I check my property daily. Anytime poison is used a responsible pet owner must make extra effort to ensure the safety of the pets. I do feel comfortable that my pets cannot access these bait stations.
