a very powerful, compact fan
I bought this fan because I have seen how durable this brand is in the workplace. This fan can be a little on the loud side at home, but moves air better than the 20 inch floor fan that it replaced. This fan is very sturdy, and heavier than you would expect from fans of this size, from what I have witnessed, it's weight is due to the quality of the materials that it is made of. This fan is ideal for someone that doesn't want to purchase new fans every summer. This fan is a wise choice to buy for something you intend to use for 5-10 years, or more.

Moving air to places not possible.
Outstanding fan for a medium-sized room. Air movement in small rooms is always a problem, especially with larger fans. The air goes straight ahead, and even oscillating, you have to wait for it to reach you. But here comes Vornado. If you want air moving, this fan moves it—no oscillating needed. I like the fan's power, but it doesn't knock things off tables or walls. The air circulates without moving anything. On high, you feel the air swirling throughout the room. There are four speed settings; I haven't used setting four, as high handles the job well. Perfect for moving cool air when the AC is running; it definitely saves on the electricity bill. A big A++ for a small fan with power. It's easy to clean, and the angle adjustment only goes up and down. I wasn't sure why, but after using the fan, you feel air everywhere without having to turn it toward you. As for noise, it's a fan; they make noise. P.S. This fan has buttons, so smart plugs won't work with it. Smart plugs only work with knob on/off switches or fans that have separate speed switches.

A Pleasant Surprise - Exceeded All Expectations!
When a colleague first recommended this product, I was skeptical. I figured, “Do I really need this?” Even after some convincing, I wasn’t sold. Finally, my friend insisted, saying, “If you don’t like it, I’ll buy it off you.” That sealed the deal.I ordered this model with low expectations. My wife even teased me, asking, “Why did you get that thing?” At first, I placed it in my office, thinking it would be a modest addition, but it turned out to be far more powerful than I imagined—almost too much for the space. So, I moved it to our bedroom, and within moments, I knew I had to call my friend and admit, “You were absolutely right.”The breeze it creates is incredibly refreshing and subtle. Just pointing it toward a corner transforms the entire room's atmosphere. The very next day, I couldn’t resist and ordered the smaller version for my desk. Now, it’s my go-to companion for those hot days, always running quietly in the background. If you’re on the fence about getting this, let me assure you—it’s worth every penny. It’s not just a product; it’s a comfort upgrade. Highly recommended!

Compact, Powerful
Love the Vornado brand, this latest purchase replaces another branded fan that finally bit the dust. For its air-moving-power, this fan is compact and nearly silent at low speeds. The controls are conveniently located and easy-to-use, and the up-down adjustability is good.

Perfect for bathroom, even travel if need be!
I love this fan! It's perfect for my need which is in a smallish condo bathroom with no window. I take a lot of long bubble baths and need air circulation - and with hot showers too obviously . A hot bath is wonderful but without airflow, it gets too hot and suffocating! I could drag my big Lasko "cyclone" or "wind machine" floor fan to the bathroom door but that'd be a pain everytime. It is the perfect size too. I had one of those (worthless) tower fans that even on high is not much better than this fan on low or low-medium. For a long bath, I've found the 3rd highest setting is perfect pointed at me about 7-8 feet away and then after, I point it more upwards and crank it to the next level which is the highest I think - just to get everything in the bathroom good and dry (mirror, towels, whatever). It takes up the same diameter floor space as the tower fan I had but really works MUCH better. The noise on the first or second setting is barely audible but the 3rd and 4th settings are definitely louder but not so loud that I can't hear my music or anything.I know this is a long review for a fan, and quite pricey but if it works to keep me cool during baths and keeps the room from turning into a swampy rainforest after that or showers - it's worth it. Trust me, I've tried many fans (including other small floor fans) for this particular need and finally found it :) In this case, I feel it's money well spent. Also small and light enough to easily take to a friend or family member's home if need be.My only minimal complaint is that the chrome handle on the back is quite difficult to move the fan position up and down. Also, I wish it oscillated from side to side but considering for the size it's the strongest breeze fan in such a small size - and for my needs - I'm keeping it!

Customer for life.
The first Vornado model I bought was a 460. I have broken it and repaired it myself with super glue and/or duct tape (THREE times now) and still get plenty of good use of it.On the third incident with the 460, I got the 560 out of frustration. I now have two Vornado fans I will use until they turn to dust. The fans will make a decent amount of noise on higher levels (although it is "white" noise, great to fall asleep to) but will truly circulate the air in your human cave, whatever the size is. Even if the fan isn't pointing at you, you can feel the air moving around 30ft away. They really came up with a great design with the right angle fan blades and compact housing. All sizes seem to have it. They move air VERY well.Just don't drop it. Yknow, like you'd do anything else super expensive. They'll be the last fans you buy.
