I use this product in my evaporative/swamp cooler in my shop. Since I have hard water using this product is a must to prevent water scale buildup in my coolers media panels. Super simple to use. Drop one packet in the water tank once per month while using your cooler and that’s it. I have purchased from my local Port-a-cool dealer in the past, but for the last year or so they have not been able to stock this item. The price is right, and it’s well worth the money instead of having to descale and possibly damage your media panels.

I run my portable evaporative cooler every day during the summer. This product really does help to keep the pads from scaling up. It does make a fair amount of suds when you fill the cooler tank with water using a hose. It's not a big deal and probably wouldn't occur at all if the cooler filled continuously. This reduces my maintenance and saves the expense of replacing cooling pads every year.

Used once a month in my swamp cooler. It did have a strange odor for about half of the first day. Not sure what it was but definitely did work for calcium buildup.

Use these in my water cooler.

May water supply is from a well and after three years of use my porta cool pads had a heavy build up on them. I only use the cooler about 3 months a year and the build up did not look that bad. But when summer #3 came around. The pads had a big buildup on them. So I purchased this item and used one bag. After just 1 or 2 days my build up was greatly reduced. I won’t go another summer without them.

Don’t really think they work as good as the company claims
