The motor is excellent please check your charcoal cabinet direction!
The media could not be loaded. My new motor works excellent I found out the reason why I had to replace my motor and switches was because the fact my charcoal cabinet was put on backwards when Lowes put my gravity 980 together and I've been having nothing but trouble with my gravity 980!!! please pass this on especially to people who had it put together by someone else, I did not know that you could pull out the charcoal cabinet until I saw it on YOUTUBE!!! I cant even pull my charcoal cabinet out it's so severely warped!!! the holes that should be on the left side were on the right side I was just heating up the outside of my chimney where my fan motor and my normally open door safety switch switches are located at, What a waste!!! If your grill does not heat up fast and you have had to replace switches and fan motor's the first thing you do is pull the Charcoal box out of the inside lining of your chimney it won't cost you anything to look and EVERYTHING IF YOU DON'T!!! MY GRILL NEVER HAD A CHANCE!!! but your's steel may!!!and now lowe's say they cant find my order!!!

Did not fix ERF error code on Char-Griller 980
Was optimistic about this fan replacing a burnt out one in my 980 based on the majority of reviews, was to arrive much faster than could be replaced by CG. Installation went fine and works for 15 mins or so, sometimes 30, but the ERF error code would always return. Unplugging would reset the code but no way to do a long a smoke. Get the replacement direct from CG.

Awesome fan!!!
I purchased this fan due to the original fan going out only after a few uses. Was sent another by the company which did't work at all. Decided to purchase this one and it was the best decision ever. Fan works great, I've been using my grill now pretty much on a weekly basis. You won't be disappointed. I'm probably going to purchase another for back up purposes.

Works well but...
The product is very sturdy and hefty compared to the original one. Install was easy. Only complaint was when I went to turn the grill on I got an ErF (error) code. Upon inspection I noticed the red and black wires in the harnesss were swapped. So the connection to the grills harness was not right. I had to flip the connection upside down and finesse it to fit the grills harness. Once I did that it works great. A little QAQC on the manufactures end would make these a 5 star.

Works great.
Our gravity charcoal grill fan went out. We grill often. This works better than what the grill originally came with.

Great replacement fan
This is a great replacement for the original fan in my Char Griller Smoker. It fits in the housing and is actually a more powerful fan than the original. As well, it’s around half the price of getting one directly from Char Griller.

NOT for Char-Griller Gravity Fed 980 even though it says it is!
This item did not work on my Char-Griller Gravity Fed 980 Grill even though it's description says it is. The wire molex is opposite of that on the grill itself. Lined up: Red wire to Blk, Yellow to Yellow, Blk to Red.

Wired Wrong for Char-Griller 980
The Red and Black wires were crossed. Took me several minutes to get the wire pins out of the Molex connector and flipped. Not sure why but once in a while it still gives me an error on the Gravity Controller. Runs perfectly on my Fireboard 2. Just be aware if you planning on installing on a Char-Griller 980 it’s not going to work until you fix the wiring. I probably would of given 5 stars if not for that issue.
