Works for it's purpose
We live in a very rural, windy area. Husband installed a vent for the microwave fan above our stove to vent outside. Any kind of wind had the vent making so much noise throughout the day Abe night. We finally got fed up with it and purchased this... it was extremely easy for him to install and sealed great! We no longer hear the extremely loud, annoying flapping and it has stopped so much backdraft. The fan ventilation system is even quieter than it was before! We've had it installed for over a month now with some pretty nasty storms and seems durable!

Fits great in our 4 inch ductwork
Fit in our 4 inch pipe. Just what we needed for our bathroom vent fan exhaust to be pushed out yet closed when it’s hot and humid for no air to come in. Excellent product!

Review: 4 Stars
This backdraft damper has been very effective at keeping odors out, which has made a huge difference. It works well most of the time and has really improved the air quality in my space. The only downside is that it occasionally gets stuck, so I have to check on it and adjust it now and then. Other than that minor issue, it’s a solid product that does what it’s supposed to do.

Great product for high humidity
SAVED MY WIFES SANITY AND OUR DRYER from being removed from our home. Wife was going crazy with the dryer having a musty wet smell after drying the clothes especially if they sat in the basket for any length of time post drying. Our dryer exhaust was installed in the slab at some ridiculous pathway to the exterior and didnt include a damper flap which after installing this one COMPLETELY SOLVED ALL DRYER RELATED ISSUES LIVING IN FLORIDA! The humidity here is on a level of insane that you may well just decide not to deal with. Ya beaches are cool but 65% humidity in the house was killin us! now sitting at a comfortable 48%-52% after damper installation. Damper fit inside of our 4" pipe and sealed using a little rubber/foam gasket. The flaps are spring loaded stainless steel and easily alert you to when they are working although the sound easily drowns out during dryer operation. one way dampers are the way to go!

Easy install with foil tape.
Nice damper. Works great for my dryer exhaust system. Hoping to keep some cold air out of my dryer vent exhaust. Seems to help a bit. Def will keep critters out, not that I ever had a problem before… but nice in the Winter time to reduce cold air infiltration.

Tight seal
I have used this type of damper from other manufacturers and they are not all built the same. This one has well balanced tension on the spring to allow for free airflow yet closes pretty tight to prevent backflow. Some I have used either have springs that have too much tension and do not open easily without a good amount of air pressure and / or don't seal very well when closed allowing a lot of backflow air leakage. It does not pay to go cheap on an inline damper. This unit is a good balance of quality and price.

Perfect fit, stopped the backdraft
My microwave vent to the outside of the house was letting cold air pour into my house. I purchased this backdraft damper and it instantly fixed my issue. It slid perfectly into place and has a good seal around the outer edges. The flaps do have small holes where they connect to the hinge but I put a piece of weather stripping on each side. It still lets the flaps perform like they should and when they close, it creates a perfect seal that blocks out any traces of air. Definitely recommend if you need a quick fix to stop backdraft and don’t want to tear all your duct work out.
