I bought this after trying the standard gait belt, with no handles. Obviously, it's a no-brainer -- this is far better, because you have a better grip on the patient. It may well deserve 5 stars, if you are comparing it to the standard belt, but unfortunately, I had the opportunity to get this same belt with plastic handles (by a different manufacturer), which, by far, exceeded the performance of this one. I fell that there was too much slippage with the handles of this one. It's okay, if you need something other than the standard, and can''t find the one with plastic or rubber handles, this will do.

We are not healthcare professionals. But this got the approval of our daughter who is an Occupational Therapist. We are using it to help move my father, suffering from dementia and some muscle weakness, from his bed to his wheelchair, lift chair, etc. Thus far we have found it to be very well made, durably made, and extremely helpful to lift, guide, and turn. We even used it to safely and gently hold him in his wheelchair to prevent him from falling out. Not its intended use and we did order something specifically for that, but this worked like a charm in a pinch. Highly recommend this product!

The COW&COW GAIT belt is very well made, very strong and easy to put on my loved one with dementia. The handles are well attached, sturdy, and easy on the hands & fingers. This gait belt is easy to adjust and has a secure locking latch closure. It makes the caregiving journey safer for my loved one, myself & adult daughters who also help with caregiving.

Great product! We have 14 year old daughter, whom is 5’ 2” weighs 90 lbs. that needs transfer assistance and this belt works great! The handles are sturdy, and I really like the quick release.One thing I would have liked to have on this belt is a 7th handle . I also just started noticing that some areas of the stitching is starting to fray.
