Now that my daughter's about to be 4, it's time for us to focus on her learning to read. I thought this little pen reader would be a great starter for her. In general, it's a good beginner product as the pen is large and she can easily manage it. But it's not as precise as if you saved your money and bought a version of this from a more established brand like VTech. This has some nice features, but it has a legit learning curve:Pros:1. Multiple playing modesI like that there are options for you to record yourself, you can do a game play mode, and that there's a mode that simply reads/sings the song on the page2. Comes with 3 books, flash cards and a piano pageWe still haven't gotten through all the songs and books. But I like that it comes with a wide variety of stories. I haven't opened up the flashcards yet either but I like that they come with hooks so you can keep them organized.3. USB charging for the wandEspecially since I hate having to hunt for batteries in our house, a toy that charges via USB is always preferableCons:1. Wand isn't precise or the pages aren't coded properlyWhat I mean is, if you don't hold the wand over the exact prompt, it won't work. If you're in regular reading or singing mode, this means that the toy won't play the content. But if you're in game mode, if you don't hold the wand exactly over what it's telling you to find, it'll tell you that you're incorrect. Even as an adult with far more precise hand-eye coordination than my preschooler, I had trouble finding the correct spot at times during game play to get the correct answer for my daughter.Verdict:I like this as a good starter toy, but the lack of precision can cause frustration for little and big people. I'll definitely be upgrading my daughter's reading toy to a more legit brand.

I had this item for about 2 months. Now it is saying that there is no memory card. Hoping the seller can contact me to help me fix this issue.The company contacted me after this message and was working with me to fix the issue. Issued has been resolved.My son loves this pen and uses it everyday. So happy that we were able to fix the issue and my son can continue to use it.

My kid loves this reading pen! He is only 18 months now and after 2 days he learned how to use the pen to point to the relevant area in the book. Since pretty much everywhere you point in the book, there is sound related to the character, which makes this learning toy very entertained. My son can easily be obsessed with it for 10 mins. In addition to serving as an interactive learning toy, it also has pre-loaded with 50+ songs, stories. So I will just leave non-stop music on while he is practicing motor skills:) I really like this package overall, and just hope that the seller store can provide a list of materials which are compatible with this reading pen, for buyers to download or purchase later on, in order to maximize the use of this reading pen.

We don’t know how to set up the smart pen to read the tales that include the set it’s kinda hard to use without assistance

The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty neat toy and has already entertained both of my kids for hours! The colors are nice, and the pen has a very cute talking voice. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality of the songs and phrases.There are LOTS of activities to do with this toy, such as 3 books which kids can hear the pen read, sing, play games with, or be asked questions about. There are also 2 packs of flash cards which the pen will pronounce the words for, and there’s a piano piece that plays songs and musical instrument sounds, and also flips over to say alphabet letters.The toy also comes with tons of “recording stickers” where you can record your own voice and then play it back by holding the pen over the same sticker.The pen itself also has additional songs and stories it will play.Some things I think could be improved though, are that the recording stickers can be kind of glitchy and difficult fo figure out, and the pen told me my answer was wrong on one of the questions it asked, when it definitely wasn’t. I wish the pen would react to my holding the pen over the codes on the flash cards a little faster too.I try to limit my kids’ screen time, and this toy is the perfect alternative to handing them an iPad or handheld video game. I love that it’s educational too! It’s pretty expensive, and I don’t know that I would normally pay that much for this, but if money is no issue, it’s a great toy!
