Q: What is the height of it?

It is 5" high. The dimensions are listed on Amazon. The dolly is extremely strong and works great for me. It does make noise on pavement when wheeling it, but I wheel it on grass, no problem. I needed something to pull it with without bending, so I put the top of a cane in the handle and I can pull it without any problem. It's great for the money!!! Hope this helps.

Q: is assembly required ?

My two came unassembled. Directions are incomplete: no mention that tools are required, and the black plugs do not lock the bolt in its slot as the instructions say they do. So don’t put the plugs in as soon as you have the bolts seated! Do 4 bolts (1 wheel) at a time, and leave plugs off until the very end: make sure the bolts are seated down into their slots fully, place the wheel over the bolt ends while holding the platform on its side, then gently ease the nuts on a few turns while pressing bolts into place with a thumb, before tightening with a 3/8”-1/2” wrench. After all wheels are on, set the dolly on its wheels and use a rubber mallet to tap in the plugs. NOT easy, especially for the back wheels which aren’t casters. Use a small-headed wrench. Seems sturdy enough when assembled, but expect to wrestle with assembly.

No, you have to put the wheels on. It is quite easy to do.
