Q: Will this tool work on RV seven pin hook ups?

If it's the 7 round pin connection not the 7 flat pins, it should. This is intended for class 8 trucks, some rv's are just as big and use the same lighting circuits. But this tool is just a test light for 12v multiple circuits, I would just use a 12v test light for a rv if your not sure

Q: Does this fit the larger 7 pin connectors (approximately 1-1/2") or is it for the smaller diameter (approx. 1" diameter) connectors?

This is for heavy duty trucks. Most medium and light duty trucks use a 7 pin blade configuration. Also, the approximately 1 inch diameter trailer plugs are 6 pin, not 7. 6 pin plugs do not have an auxiliary power line to the trailer.
