Does this need or should I use a 3.3v to 5v logic level converter?

Delay of reading is 3 seconds

I was going to use it to record my camera and another to stop my gate from closing on people but it has a 3 second delay which makes it completely unusable. I was also planning on using it for my robot. Oh well.
