Q: Can this be used for filtering oil from a fryer

I use it for emptying my coffee pot so the ground coffee doesn’t go down the drain, it works for that, so assuming you just want to filter any bits out then it would work.

Q: Is the bag heat resistant? Can it be boiled for hours?

The bag is made of fine nylon mesh, so I wouldn't have thought that you can boil it for hours. You would be better off cooking whatever it is you want to put through it first, letting it cool down for a while then straining it through the bag.
