Arrived damaged. One of the handles was off.No biggie.Very heavy and thick.If you plan to buy this for one, buy if you really like salt.And this may take a hour or two to heat it up to proper temperature.Buy a laser thermometer or splash water on it to make sure it’s heated properly.You must heat it slowly or it could break.I wouldn’t use this daily as your sodium levels will skyrocket.I cooked mahi-mahi and asparagus on it the first night.The fish was great but the asparagus was so salty we couldn’t eat it. I lightly seasoned the fish knowing it would pick up the salt.Trial and error I guess.I hear it cooks a really good steak, that’s my next try.I wouldn’t recommend it because it’s not something you could use daily and it takes so long to heat up. It stays hot for hours when it’s ready.Great presentation and conversation starter.

I purchased this item and it looks nice. Used it several times now. I can say that I am satisfied, but it's not easy to use, you need to take your time to heat it up slowly. Despite the fact that I put it on the stove on the highest and biggest flame I couldn't reach to the temperatures that they claim I should reach which is around 300 degrees Celsius.

The salt block came with massive cracks through it and was even shrink wrapped with a whole corner chipped off (i.e. it wasn't damaged during shipping). Very disappointed especially considering the cost.

Cooking, it’s one best things to season meat on the market!

I have not heated this up yet... I use it to stage food materials to absorb flavors.. because the block has a big stress crack running diagonally across the rectangle and I expect it to break.. The metal carrier was also damaged in transit (one side handle bent up; one handle bent down) > I bent them back using garage tools.
