I bought this to replace the absent keyboard in a hand-me-down Aspire 5560g. The install was simple enough once I got the ribbon cable in snugly and folded to the right shape, and the keyboard works great. Easy enough once I knew what I was doing, but as for how I knew... well, I had to order a second one.A word of warning: if your laptop is anything like mine, slotting this keyboard into the frame is a "one time only" type of deal. If you screw up then the only way to get the keyboard out will bend and inevitably damage it. By the time I had my first keyboard installed correctly I'd broken something inside and literally only the left half of it functioned. The second time around I was much more careful and took my time, and was able to install it successfully. However, it took a LOT of trial and error getting the ribbon cable seated and making sure it stayed.My advice: make CERTAIN the ribbon cable lock is firmly locked in on both sides, use a bit of tape to secure it, then test Every. Single. Key. Every one. All of them. I had quite a few times where I thought the ribbon was in correctly, only to find that, say, the "U" key wouldn't work while every key around it did. Eventually though I got it seated correctly, and every key functions fine. A bit time consuming, yeah, but worth it.

This keyboard was in perfect condition and is one of the easiest I have ever seen to replace. There are 4-6 little plastic slider pins at the top that all you need to do is slide a couple of them back and then pry your old keyboard out with a very thin small screw driver. It will pop right out. Next pop up the black connector and remove and toss the old keyboard. Reverse installation by putting the new cable all the way in and pushing the black connector back down. Then slide the bottom in first and snap the top in and you are ready to rock. I fully recommend before snapping it into place to test your track pad and keyboard so you know you have the cable secure. This prevents any damage to the new one should you not have it in all the way and have to pry the new one out.

1 star, looking to replace my acre keyboard with a new keyboard that is compatible with my computer. Instead I received this thin piece of metal with keys on it, no plug ins no keyboard just keys on a mat? Horrible!!!

Good solution to fix my old laptop keyboard, instead to through it away and fill up the land fields.

Easy to install. Great price but half the keyboards doesn’t work. Was gonna return for refund but 10.99 isn’t a bad price and isn’t worth the hassle of trying to ship it back off. I guess I’ll take my Lost.
