Works great!
Needed to replace my vacuum breaker valves after the ones that came with my house went bad. My neighbor easily drilled out the old set screw to remove the bad one and screwed this one right on. VOILA! No more water spraying everywhere. You can choose to break off the set screw or leave it on for easier removal later on.

Simple device -- what could go wrong
Good fit/quality; Good price; Hopefully, the internal rubber valve will last as long as the old one.

Almost perfect
This product is very well made and easily installed and works as it is supposed to. My only problem with the unit is the set screw twisted right off. So be careful when you lock the screw down and don't apply too much pressure (torque) or you will twist the screw right off.

Save Yourself A Future Headache By Not Using The Snap-Off Set Screw
All of these vacuum breakers look completely identical aside from the stampings and I'm guessing they all work the same, so why pay more for one? This HYDRO MASTER appears to be solid brass and it works as intended, so it's a good value for the price I paid at the time of this review. I highly recommend installing this without the snap-off set screw (does this by design) or you will find yourself in my boat of having to replace the faucet because the breaker can't be removed when it fails, and it will eventually fail. I understand the need for these vacuum breakers to prevent potentially contaminated water from backflowing into the drinking water of one's house, but the snap-off set screw is just idiotic. If they are going to do that, then they should just make faucets with vacuum breakers as a one-piece design. Trust me, it will work just fine without the set screw, and you will thank me down the road when you don't have to spend extra money to replace a perfectly working faucet when the breaker breaks and starts spewing water everywhere. Just keep the set screw in a safe place in case you need to install it for an inspection if you are selling your house.

Yea you need one!
These are inexpensive and protect your home from a potential backflow situation. Most people and some plumbers believe it’s not needed but they are wrong. My advice if you do not have one in your hose spigot put one on. Just make sure to remove the little wet screw on the side, that you do not need. These screws when tighten snap off making removal of the valve very difficult to impossible later in.

Needed item for exterior faucet
This is a must for all exterior faucets. It prevents water from entering your system. I installed it , super easy and it works perfectly. I removed the set screw for future replacement as needed otherwise you have to cut it off if/when this device fails.

Too noisy inside and outside the house
This thing is way too noisy and loud. I purchased 3 of these and installed for garden hose, Oto lawn watering system, and faucet in the garage. The noise wakes everyone up in the middle of the night when lawn watering happens or watering backyard garden during the day.I removed all three and tossed in the trash.
