I bought this set of oil paints as a beginner after a dismal failure with acrylics in attempts to mix them and get the same effects of oils on canvas. These paints made me fall in love with oils and I have definitely learned a lot in the past month and a half. The set has a great color selection for the price and even has some colors not widely available from more expensive manufacturers. Yes, they are made in China, but for the the price and color selection, these are a beginner's dream. That being said, my greatest challenge other than learning with trial and error what colors mix or blend well, was the dry time for the paints. These paints do take a bit longer to dry on their own than other oil brands I have tried since I purchased them. Of course, it also depends on what colors you use, thickness of paint, etc. However...I finally realized after much research that there are options for a gel medium that makes the oil paints dry faster when mixed properly. Gamblin makes two different alkyd gel tubes that I found are nice and easy to use. One is solvent-based which does fume a lot, and the other solvent free which is easier for chemical-sensitive individuals. And yes, they are a bit pricey at only about nine dollars less than these paints themselves, but it is worth it if you want to take things to the next level. There is also another walnut alkyd liquid medium from M. Graham which contains no solvents that I experiment with. And there is a non-toxic Res-N-Gel from Martin/F. Weber which I have not tried. There are also more solvent-based brands of drying mediums out there and various techniques. It all just depends on what works for you.I wanted to share this, because the dry time was my biggest challenge with oils. The first painting I did using this paint set without any medium added is just finally drying out completely to the touch among all the colors used after a little over a month. Whereas, the abstract paintings I did with both solvent-based and solvent-free gel were dry to the touch way sooner.Above all, just have fun and don't be discouraged if you have challenges with oil painting, because the journey to overcome them is well worth the endeavor (at least for me!). I've looked at a ton of blogs, videos, etc. Luckily, oil painting for me has become so much more than just worrying about drying time, which is fantastic! This paint set was just the beginning of my enjoyment of oil painting and I am certain it will get you where you need to be as well!

The media could not be loaded. I love these oil paints! The last time I painted with oil was over 10 years ago in high school. I have been using acrylics recently because as a busy mom of small children with no designated studio who likes to paint after their bedtime, it was just the most convenient thing, but wow am I so glad I bought these! They are so beautiful and have inspired me to use oil again. I’m someone who loves using color and I love the color selection it comes with! So many gorgeous colors! The quality was rich and creamy and perfect and so fun to use. If you are a beginner (or not) and even just curious about using oil paints, this is such a great kit to begin with. :) I really appreciate that it has three tubes of white as well! ;)Watch me paint exclusively with these oil paints and turpentine. Wife is an artist. She wanted these so I got them for her. She says they work good, no issues. She says it's a nice little kit.

bought this for my girlfriends birthday as she had not used oil paint before, it comes very thick and needs to be thinned to get good clean lines. otherwise great, vibrant paint!

Although my experience with oil paints is limited, as a novice I found this set to be incredibly nice, especially at such a reasonable price. The range of colors is fabulous, all of which are vibrant and intense, with a buttery texture. Very easy to spread and wonderful for blending. I found that even with my very limited artistic ability/experience, with these paints I was able to expressively create with each brush stroke and if desired, to add to the scene with a wet-on-wet method which also worked well with these paints.For anyone looking to encourage a talent, start a new hobby or just find enjoyment in unleashing their own artistic talents, this would be a wonderful set to purchase.

It’s so great with so many colour in this price and the volume of each is larger than most in the market. The only thing I don’t like is the box, it was a little damaged when arrived. I think it can be more sturdy and it would be great to be able to flip on top rather than pulling out from the side like chocolate box.

I really like these paints. It has plenty of single pigment colors and a few single pigment plus white colors and just a few multi pigment colors. I like that the tubes are bigger than other sets on the market with similar colors. I also really appreciate the fact they added three whites! The paint itself is super smooth and dries quickly with mediums and slowly without. It took 5 days for the paint on my pallete to become dry and unusable so you have plenty of time to work on a painting without having to worry about re mixing colors every day or buying a stay wet pallete. Most colors are nicely opaque but a few are more translucent than in would like but nothing multiple coats cant fix. Overall i would highly recommend these paints to any beginner or intermediate artist. Even advanced artists that are just looking for something new to try or wants some paint to practice with that isn’t super pricy.

The colors are vibrant, blend easy, and comes with so many colors. Love this set of paints. Will buy again and recommend to others.
