They Work!!!!
I used to DRIVE somewhere to walk my dog in the winter because of the snow, ice, salt, and filthy slushy streets we had to cross in our neighborhood. Then I changed jobs and my dog walking schedule and I have no choice but to walk her right here at home. I don't have the money to be buying her boots that get lost in the snow. I've been using balloons on her feet and it's doable but a pain. I think I read every single review of every single dog shoe on the market before deciding to try these. They work, they really work! So far, they have stayed on through 2 walks in our neighborhood. One walk was 8 city blocks, the other was longer, maybe 10 or 12 blocks. Each walk included bare sidewalks, curbs, steps, packed snow, ice, 6" deep fluffy snow, ice melt salt, and dirty slush in streets. I almost didn't use the shoes because I thought our brand new shoes would be filthy after just one walk but they really didn't pick up the dirt. I shook off the snow and hung them on clothespins near a heat duct so they'd be ready for our next walk.My dog was not thrilled with them at first and kept lifting her rear feet after I put the boots on. But she loves her walks and the minute we got outside it hardly seemed any different than usual. One thing I noticed is that the booties make a little sound as she walks, like the pitter patter of little feet. She has stumbled a couple of times that I attribute to the boots and maybe it will get better with time. She kind of stumbled up a snow-bermed curb and she stumbled when she tried a flying leap. Overall her walking pattern, speed, etc., seemed very normal. I had to keep looking to see if the front shoes were still on (they were--YAY!)SIZING:My dog is a 15# long-legged mutt, maybe a shih tzu terrier cross. Her feet, when pressed down on paper, measure 1 1/4" across. Based on the sizing guidelines and info from reviews, I ordered the Petite. When they came I almost sent them back. The foot part looked OK, but I thought no way was her limp foot gonna make it through the opening, and yes it was a little awkward/difficult threading her foot in, but it was easier the second time. The next size up would be way too big and flappy in the feet. I would say 1 1/4" width is about the biggest foot that will fit in the Petite size. I would have to agree with some other reviewers that if you have a really tiny dog, the Petite will be too big, but balloons should work.A SAFETY PRECAUTION ABOUT BALLOONS - CHOKING HAZARD:My dog was pretty OK with using balloons on her feet. One day as I was putting them on, one ripped and I stepped away from her long enough to get a balloon from the next room. When I came back I noticed that one balloon was missing from her feet and thought it had just come off. But then she started gagging a little bit. She wasn't actually chewing or choking; she just seemed a little odd. I couldn't get her to open her mouth or even force it open.We went ahead outside for her walk and she kept doing these little tiny gags. Finally, luckily, very soon a bright green balloon suddenly appeared on the sidewalk. She had it in her mouth or throat the whole time and I'm lucky she didn't die. Children die from swallowing balloons so watch your dog carefully if you use balloons on their feet. Don't let your dog out of your sight when they have balloons on their feet and don't leave them within your dog's reach in between walks. Dogs love chewing on rubbery things and may be especially inclined to chew up and kill those rubbery things you keep putting on their feet.If you try balloons, you need to cut off most but not all of the neck. It needs some of the neck to be tight enough to stay on. Only use them for short term use as they are tight on the dog's legs and also sweaty.ULTRA PAWS DURABLE BOOTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I am thinking of ordering a spare pair for when these need to be washed. Also it seems inevitable that a boot will go missing sometime and I'll have plenty of spares on hand.

Excellent dog booties for my Great Danes!
I tried three different brands of dog booties for my Great Danes and Bull Mastiff and these were the best design by far. The dogs were racing around the yard and playing the first time I put these booties on them and the boots didn’t slip or come off. The Ultra Paws also had the best selection of sizes. I like that these are designed more like a mitten which seemed much more comfortable for the dogs.

So cute!
My dog loves these! He goes swimming with them all the time. Highly recommend. They stay on great. He is tearing a hole in them only causes he plays ruff haha.

German Shepard Didn’t Like
Our German shepherd has a bad toe and we were trying anything to protect it. She didn’t like wearing these and they fell off very often. We couldn’t use these for her. Maybe your dog will be better but it didn’t work for ours.

They stay on dogs paws and dogs are happy
I bought Petite for my dogs. My dogs are 1. (big size pure) Chihuahua (12lb) and 2. Miniature poodle mix (10lb). Their front paws are 1.25" and back paws are 1", WITHOUT putting their weight on them. When they put their weight on a paw, it spreads out to .25" bigger. I bought Petite (1.25") for both dogs and they are plenty big enough. I tried 1.5" boots (not this kind) but they were too big. Petite are too big for the back paws, but these are the smallest size on "Durable" boots, and they DO stay on their skinny legs. You have to fasten the lower Velcro pretty tight in order to make them stay on. They are a little big on the back paws and not perfect, but having boots on their paws on wet/snow surfaces is great. They are protecting their paws from cold, wet and chemicals. When I put boots on my dogs, they make sad faces, but once they start walking outside, they seem to be pretty happy. They run around on the snow, and cold and wet sidewalks. It has been very cold where we live, so the boots protect their paws. It is a huge relief that I don't have to worry about salt too.I have tried 4 kinds of boots. It was hard to find small size boots, and this one stayed on their feet/paws without altering, and my dogs were able to walk without too much trouble (just needed to get used to them - some boots were very hard to walk with). My dogs did the "bootie dance" first time, but they got used to them quickly. It was easier for them to practice walking outside than inside. They have been wearing 1-3 times per day for about 3 weeks now, so they are used to wearing them and very happy with the boots. They are running and pouncing on snow, and walk better on wet places. We are getting better with putting the boots on dogs' paws too. You need some practice to put their paws all the way in and fasten really well. Hold the boot wide open with one hand, and then push a paw in until it hits the end, then fasten it. Watch the dewclaws! They could get caught and it would hurt. I hold their legs or hocks to guide and push paws into boots all the way, then hold the paw/boot so that the paw won't move - then fasten with the bottom Velcro. If paws are not deeply in the boots, it is hard for dogs to walk with extra material at the tip of the boot it flapping. The pads around the opening are helping them to stay on, and also keep snow out. Please, Ultra Paws, make smaller size for smaller paws! My dogs could use 1" size for back paws, and there are smaller dogs that need good boots! It is a lot of work to put boots on 8 paws, but with the winter weather, it's all worth it.

They're good quality, stay on
They're good quality, stay on, though he still slips a bit when on ice; but he doesn't lift his paws due to cold temps, so we can resume our walks/playtime in the -30°C Canadian weather. They get a better fit when you slip a boot on then get the dog to put their paw on the ground, then do up the Velcro.

Good for larger dog breed sizes!
We have a Dutch shepherd and Great Pyrenees crossbreed dog, he’s a big boy which is sometimes hard to find sizes in stuff for him. The boots are fantastic quality, although typical with velcro, if fur etc. gets in it, less the Velcro tends to work but although there’s fur in the Velcro, they still stay on. The inside boot has foam like spacers to help keep the boot on. It’s fairly easy to put the dog paw in, with a tiny struggle so long as you can coordinate wrapping the straps around. Great product!

Fits as promised and Durable
Perfect for a downtown dog who has to trudge through salt and slush. Durable rubberized bottoms and comfortable fit. Follow the measuring chart. Our mid-sized labradoodle wears a size small and it fit properly (small paws and skinny legs). And he had no trouble walking around in them with the first wear. They may seem expensive but they don't seem to come off and don't tear through after only a few walks. Also relatively easy to get on with a little practice. Bonus - gives an older dog traction on polished floors.

Great for large dogs!
It took so long to find a shoe that fit my mastiff, but I finally did! Very happy to find something intended for larger dogs as this is always a struggle. Bought these in hopes to stop her environmental allergy exposure and so far have no complaints. They stay on very well!
