SordinPro-X Ear Muffs - Active and Electronic Ear Defenders w/Neckband - Foam Pads - Earmuffs for Hunting & Shooting

I own a wide variety of standard and noise canceling headsets from brands like Peltor, Honeywell, and 3M, but this is the first Sordin I've tried. Insofar as I can tell the only difference between the PRO and PRO X versions is the quality of the gel foam, so with minimal difference in pricing I opted for the PRO X model. I bought it for use under a ballistic helmet and find that it's absolutely perfect for the job. These ear muffs fit great (and are nicely adjustable to assure that they will), feel comfortable even after several hours of use, and work perfectly with any mid- or high-cut ACH/MICH helmet. They're low profile, the noise cancelling is great, and I find that there's no need to wear foam earplugs underneath them as with lessor quality ear muffs. The sound quality is awesome; I can't quite hear a pin drop (yeah, I actually tried that just for grins), but my situational awareness is actually a bit better wearing them with the mic turned on than it is without a headset due to the dual microphone system so I presume that for hunting and tactical purposes it will do nicely. I haven't used them for long enough yet to determine battery life but it appears good so far which is a good thing since changing the batteries is a bit of process. My only beef is that they don't automatically return to the last setting when you turn them off and back on again so you'll need to readjust each time. Annoying but not a big deal in the greater scheme of things. All-in-all they're truly excellent.

So far so good - used them at an airsoft event over the weekend. Fantastic headset, great noise amplification and situational awareness. Fit perfectly under my team Wendy helmet. They do pick up A LOT, including wind and leaves you step on, so sometimes it's hard to hear what others are saying through the noise. For hunting or tactical situations, highly recommend so far. I will update this if anything changes.

Yes, they are expensive. And they are only the second set I've ever owned because my first set lasted more than 15 years. I use these for day-long range sessions and they are comfortable enough to stay on the whole day.

Save your money and buy Comtacs or Liberators these things were dead with only a few minutes of use, I even tried different batteries thinking the pair that came with were just faulty. Absolutely disgraceful for a $300 product to fail so quickly. My Impact sports I bought 7 years ago are still going just fine and those cost 6x less.Just shameful QC on the part of Sordin

I have had Sordins for about 4-5 years. I bought some Peltor Comtac's III about 2 years ago. Sordin's are superior in sound quality and comfort. You need to have the gell cups either one you pick. I bought these so i could wear a helmet. If you can afford the cost the Sordins are top quality. Peltor Comtac's everyone wants to pretend to be SF.

These function but they are saturated with cigarette smoke. They stink. They were shipped in a bag and the thin cardboard manufactures product box was mushed. The manufacturing sticker says they were made in 2011, it's now 2019. But the stink of old cigarette smoke is what's really wrong with it. The product is good, the seller, ACE-Instruments, not so much.

Yeah these rock. At the lowest sound amplification level it sounds best, the higher you go, the more background scruff sound or whatever you call it there is. Audio jack for music or some form of coms. Honestly quite poor sound quality for the piped in music, but that isn’t there purpose, and the actual sounds that it amplifies sound good. More of a bonus if anything. The rear neckband tucks under a back turned ball cap for me, but it will depend on the person I think. Overall a 10/10 worth every penny. PS. Have a friend put them on and scream at them, watch their reaction lol.

Great product but for the cost I want an unopened box that’s not damaged. I will be returning.
