THANK YOU, AMAZON!
We are updating two *really* ugly bathrooms, and needed new tubs for both. We like the durability of porcelain over cast iron, but didn't want the weight. After doing much research, it seemed an American Standard Americast tub would be ideal. The problem was getting one within our time frame. Our plumber said that due to the years of rotten economy in our state and the abrupt halt of new home construction, his distributors were only stocking the least-expensive tubs because that's what was selling. Getting one of these would take at least 3 weeks, even though I gave him 4 different models as possibilities. We didn't have that much time due to tight scheduling with our drywall installer, so I started searching the internet for a source. Turned out our first choice was available on Amazon at a good price AND with a delivery date that fit our schedule! (Who knew?) The tubs arrived a day before expected, and we love them. Our plumber was very impressed with the quality and finish, they installed without a problem and look beautiful. The finish is incredible--slick and flawless. I'm sure these will be no trouble to keep clean, and this style has the simple, uncluttered lines we like to have in our home.A+ to Amazon on this product and transaction. I'm not sure what we'd have done if I hadn't found the tubs here. We probably would have had to go with something neither of us really liked, but, fortunately, Amazon's wide product range and great service solved the problem.

Very Happy With This Tub for our One Bathroom House
I searched and struggled with deciding on a bathtub for our 1948 home remodel. I previously had a cast iron tub and wanted the look and cleanable surface of porcelain. I also like to take soak baths so was looking for a deep tub. I have been really pleased with this tub. It is deep enough for a great soak and comfortable. I find the americast surface feels like the cast iron tub I had, but isn't as cold when you fill it (takes less time for side of tub to warm up) and holds heat well. The finish is great. I don't like the little non slip marks on the bottom, but all new tubs are required to have these. I read another review where poster said he had used fine sandpaper to get them off. I'm afraid to try that.Anyway, it is a fabulous tub. I highly recommend it, I did order the American Standard Deep Soak stopper and overflow drain that is made for it. Yes it's plastic, sigh...most plumbing stuff has plastic. In our prior new build I bought a very expensive all metal tub faucet fixture and it failed after 2 years and couldn't be fixed....So I figured I would by the drain American Standard makes for this tub. It works great and looks fab.

Lub My Tub!
The media could not be loaded. This is a video review of the American Standard Cambridge left-drain tub in Linen. (Matches Toto Sedona Beige and Kohler Biscuit) I LOVE this tub! It's easy on the eyes, heavier than acrylic but easy to install, (nothing a couple o' buff contractors can't handle!) and very easy to clean. I originally wanted a cast iron tub since it keeps the water warmer than acrylic, and my goal when I soak is raisin-fingers: So I need it to stay warm. This tub does what cast iron does for less money and half the weight. (this tub weighs in at about 240lbs) I was amazed that I didn't have to keep letting water out to put more hot in. Shipped free with Amazon prime, can't beat that! Check it for chips BEFORE you install! I had no worries: mine came in perfect condition and very quick shipping with prime. We've only had it a few months, so I cannot at this point speak to longevity: But if you take care of it and clean properly, I can't imagine you won't still be lovin' this tub when your fingers are raisins BEFORE you get in!

Nice tub with good size
Nice tub with good size. seems to be well constructed and both sturdy and light at the same time. It was easier to install since it was on the lighter side, I could actually do it myself. Install is simple, you hang a stringer 2x4 up and set it in. After install is seemed very sturdy, not cast iron but not flimsy either. I didn't seem hard to clean or easily scratched but to be honest it was in the guest bath so it didn't get used much and then I sold the house. I would say I was happy with the purchase for ease of installation, construction, and looks.

Solid, Basic Tub ... Still Wonderful After 5 Years
The media could not be loaded. I bought this tub after looking at tons of expensive, impractical soaking tubs. All of those other tubs looked really good, but when it came down to it I worried about one thing: water splashing out of the tub. With this much simpler, classic tub I could be sure that my tub surround would capture all of the water. It was easy to install myself and, having now used it for several months, this tub is great. (I should say that I bought the tub for a complete bathroom remodel.) The tub is deep and, most of all, keeps the water in the tub! That is just too awesome. My only complaint about this tub is the etched bottom. It has some kind of "safety texture" on the bottom that tends to get a bit dirty. Does it add traction? I do not know. Cleaning the bottom every month or so does the trick, so it's really no big deal.Note that tubs are all right hand and left hand, which designates where the drain is. This Left hand tub has the drain on the left side when you're standing on the long side of the tub that faces the room.UPDATE: After several years of use by our family, there has not been a single day when this tub hasn't been wonderful. No nicks or cracks or anything like that. When we clean it up, it's just like new. Note that in my video, which I'm posting with this update, that I mention the traction sections on the base of the tub. These traction sections are subtle and nice, but they do collect dirt just a bit during use. They easily clean up with BonAmi.
