The very best way to cut crown molding
This excellent product allows for the ability to cut crown molding perfectly every time. We just finished a project on my son’s new 3000 sq ft home, and it worked flawlessly. My wife, the trim carpenter of the household, had installed moldings for years using the flat cut method. She installed layer upon layer of moldings, often creating an appearance of 14-16” crown in our 130 year old money pit. The home had 12 foot ceilings and it looked incredible. The problem was that was 15-20 years ago and we have gotten old. This product made the entire process extremely easy. My son, with no experience at all, caught on very quickly . We used an adjustable clamp to hold the wood to the guide. That really helped since we were cutting 12 foot moldings.

Worth it’s weight in gold!
Great tool if you’re looking to try do your own crown molding. Easy instructions. With video link. Only thing I can say that not positive is fingers and hands are uncomfortable close to saw blades. My first experience doing crown molding, finished product is amazing! Takes all the complexity figuring out set up for perfect alignment in corners. Well worth the investment. And wasted crown molding was minimal. So it pays for itself quickly.

If you need to do any crown molding…ever…you should have one of these in your shop.
Ok, quite simply…this thing takes all the thinking out of cutting crown molding. Generally, in order to cut crown molding correctly, you have to flip it upside down and backwards on the saw making it very easy to screw up a cut and waste a piece of not so cheap molding. If you’ve ever done crown molding before you know exactly what I’m talking about. This thing here takes all that away. You just set it up based on the angle of your specific crown molding (they even include little angle finders for that in this kit too). Then set the molding on the saw just as it would be up on the wall, rest it against this tool and cut away. It couldn’t be any easier unless you just had someone else cut it for you. Wish I would have found this thing sooner. The included instructions aren’t great but if you google “Using the Crown45” and search videos, you’ll see one right away that is specifically on this exact unit. It very clearly walks through all of the set up and use steps you’ll need.

Works but needs some design cbanges
The product works but at times there’s a struggle to get a good cut on pieces longer than 4 or 5 feet. There’s a piece that selects the angle that should lock in place. It was always falling out almost every time I move it after a cut. I would recommend that they look at a redesign to fix this. My workaround was to wrap tape all the around to secure it. The other issue I had was that it’s not sturdy enough. To hold a piece in place while cutting requires some pretty good down force and the plastic design kept flexing. I would love to see them design in a downward clamp to hold the piece while cutting. Any slippage in any direction led to an improper cut. 1 degree off could mean an 1/8 in gap. Overall it allows you to just cut at one angle and makes it easy to go between inside and outside cuts. The product is good enough for small projects like a room or two. But anything more than that, I’d recommend taking the time to build a larger jig the mimics this products functionality.

Awesome tool!
Highly recommend this tool if you are doing crown moldings and are not experienced at it. Tried doing without it and it didn't go well. This tool is a game changer for sure and well worth the money.

Good but not good
This is a good product, it did alright but wasn't able to get all the angles I wanted. Not blaming this tool, think it was just me being impatient and relying on old bad habits. Will continue work with it for now
