Definitely not what I expected and seemingly deceptive in the item itself. Feels great once the fob is inside and offers a cushion outside the hard fob by itself. My original fob was really abused and I needed new fobs to get me going with a new-to-me Volvo XC90.

My 2004 v70 Volvo Key does not have a slot that allows the key to be add on to a keychain. The key itself is clunky, monstrous and very inconvenient. This silicone sleeve is PERFECTION and allows me to slip in the actual key, and add it to my keychain. May sound simple but it is a huge relief not to have to wonder where that key is all of the time! Great price point, quality and fast shipping!

I thought this would be a hard clamshell type case. Its a flimsy rubber one and I was worried my key would fall out. I have the older style fob without the loop on the back for a key ring. I'm pretty impressed with how well it stays in. I would definitely recommend

My key would pop open if I attached a key ring in the corner where Volvo had a slot to put the key ring. It was a bad design, which I see Volvo improved, as the actual key now looks like this cover skin. The Volvo bad design left me with an individual key that I was constantly looking for. I love having my keys on a carabiner so I can clip it on my purse.I was not sure about this as there is a large open slot, which I thought the key might fall out. It has worked very well though, no problems. Now I have it attached to a carabiner and that stays on my purse when I am not driving the car. Problem solved.
