Good and almost almost perfect
As a DIYer, I appreciate good instructions. This product gets 5 stars for that. Every single parts were labeled and well coordinated with the instructions. The instructions were well written. Kudos to whoever wrote it. Any average consumer with a screwdriver will be able to assemble it. It took about an hour for me to assemble it. It looks very nice in my entryway. We used it to store our shoes, keys, wallets and misc. Here comes the quality. I think for the price, it’s good, but could be better. The veneers looks good, but seems thin. I feel that it won’t be able to withstand heavy use. It comes with some wood effect stickers. We supposed to put it over some of the exposed hardware. There are two problems with that. One is , the adhesive is not very strong. It comes off almost right away. Two, some of the exposed hardware protrude beyond the surface causing the sticker to not sit flush. Lastly, the material used for the drawer bottom is very flimsy. It doesn’t feel like you can put anything too heavy in it. This particular piece was delivered dammed. However the damage was small, and not worth the time waiting for the replacement. For that, I just want ahead and install it. To add some straight to the flimsy and damaged part, I added wood glue around the grooves. Overall, I still think it’s a good buy. I want to give it a 5 stars but the veneer, stickers not sitting right and the drawer’s bottom bothers me a lot. Good and almost perfect.

Great table but took a long time to assemble
I love the table now that it is put together. I put it together in probably about 2 hours. No lie, it took that long. Was it worth it? Probably, it is beautiful and was significantly cheaper then other.options of the same quality.

Looks nice but missing pieces
It looks nice and goes well with my bohemian/mid-century decor. However, the drawer was missing pieces. I discovered this after putting the rest of the cabinet together. I didn’t want to take it apart and didn’t know how to get in touch with the seller directly to get the missing pieces. So I have a cabinet without a drawer which looks odd and takes away from the functionality of having it at the entryway for keys, etc.

Sauder Clifford Place Library Base--a Great Purchase for a Medium Size Cabinet
This is perfect for what I needed. Putting it together was easy to understand, although I had a little difficulty in getting the doors on correctly so they would match up. I put it together myself, but, maybe, for the doors, it would be easier to have another person to steady each door while getting it into the hinge brackets properly. It looks really nice--like the picture online and on the box. (I was so glad that good measurements were on the Amazon site; it made it so much easier to decide what would fit where I needed it to go!) This was packed very well and secure, even with corner bumper protectors, and came in great shape. I especially like that the legs are high enough that I can still control the air vent it partially covers (where I needed to put it. I will get a deflector for the vent, so that air is directed into the room and doesn't blow onto the base unit.)I have other Sauder furniture pieces and I like all of them and they all came with instructions that are easy to follow. Another great thing I like about the Sauder furniture (desk, bookshelf, this base, etc.) is that all holes for screws and cams are precisely pre-drilled, even to the length of the holes! Everything lines up beautifully! These are heavy pieces, so I would recommend having another person available to help as needed for certain steps. (I, also, bought a tall Sauder storage cabinet, for which I am waiting for another person to help me with, particularly because it is taller than I am and surely weighs at least twice as much as this library base cabinet (about 80 pounds, as I recall), which I am writing about now. Plus I will definitely need help in positioning the larger cabinet into place, when its together.)I am receiving many years of service from my Sauder products. The finish is very nice on each and they blend together well. Very occasionally, for any scratches from excessive wear that might occur, a furniture marker in the color of your piece (walnut color in my case), easily covers any and blends in so they are not seen. (A dab of Old English Scratch Cover lightly rubbed over a scratch can, also, work.) It is very rare, however, that I see any scratches.Overall, this is an excellent product--as are all the Sauder products I have! Thank you!!!(This is a voluntary review and no one paid me for the review. It just so happens that I, personally, love Sauder products!)

Just what I needed!
I love this new addition to my office. My printer sits on top with lots of room to spare and inside I store all my paper products: copy paper, photo paper, cardstock, and you name it. I could not be happier!

Some issues
I had my eye on this set because of the finish/color and it turned out to be a grayish dark brown, rather than a hint of red, not what I wanted at all. I'm thankful I started with one piece rather than buying the hutch and desk, which was my ultimate plan.I assume this varies by item, but I had to route out some holes and use wood glue to construct the drawer. It's done, but the first assembly ended up too low in the space resulting in my shifting the glides; this time by drilling new holes with enough distance to avoid the need for the wood glue. Now it's a bit tight on top with a small space under the drawer, but it opens and closes. I really dislike the hinges. Trying to get these things to line up is a crazy, often futile, effort. Given the cost, I can't recommend this item. You can find better furniture out there.Ultimately, it's sturdy and I'm using it as a stand in my office. Had it been something I could have feasibly returned, I would have. I will not be ordering more.

You get what you pay for
The product looks really nice and has the mid-century look. It was easy enough to put together but took a couple hours and 2 sets of hands. Sturdy enough for extra storage, but I wouldn't use for anything very heavy. So far seems to be good enough quality, but you get what you pay for. There are a couple of minor scratches but all on the inside so not a big deal.
