Brewster 148-32818 Spazzare Swept Plaster Wallpaper, Paintable

I bought one roll of this wallpaper to see if it would work on the low ceiling of a dormer-like attic room in our old house. The ceiling and walls are battered and I didn't want to have to replace all the plaster board. This wall paper works like a charm in covering everything up. I also purchased the Brewster bead board wallpaper for the walls of this room with the same success. The are very complimentary, bring a lot of texture and interest to the room, have really great adhesion and are easy to work with.I chose to cut the wall paper to the size needed, then heavily spray with a water bottle. O then let each piece sit for 5 minutes, then lightly sprayed the wall or ceiling. The paper easily slides into place. I then used a damp paper towel to work it into place and smooth out bubbles. Works like a charm.I noticed some reviews saying that adhesion was a problem for them. It's possible that not enough water was used to activate the paste before applying. Using the spray bottle on the wall paper and the wall, I had no problem. I highly recommend and will be ordering more of this wall paper to finish the entire ceiling.

This paper definitely has a repeating pattern. Many reviewers and even the manufacturer suggest “no repeat”, but the pattern repeats every 25 inches. It is a minuscule match, but matching makes a big difference to the finished look. Paper usually looks better if repeat is matched, even if the pattern is randomish.I have hung a variety of papers for 25 plus years. This one seemed "fragile" and very papery...ie, it tore easily when wet. Maybe because of the underlying nature of the paper, it was also easy to nudge around on the wall, you just have to be careful.. Use sharp knives!! Drop a plumb line at each new wall and back into corners! If you have to err at the seams, err toward the world's tiniest almost-an-overlap as this paper seems to tighten up a bit and shrink back (amount of shrink being too small to even measure) ass it dries, accentuating the seams. Watch tutorial videos and take your time.We were just adding texture and do not plan to paint this paintable paper, which was chosen to go above white judge's paneling in dining area (same color as paper). The pattern/repeat is small and delicate appearing even though it is swoopy and I believe mimicking a plaster look. I was wondering if we painted it, or even if we only washed it with an overcoat color, if it would read more Victorian rather than rustic-plaster...I don't know, though, as I did not test a sample....you can just see the effect when it is wet.We are happy to have achieved the look we were after. It was a LOT of work!!!!

While we are not in a position to completely remodel our house right now this wallpaper was the best quick fix ever! I ordered it originally for the living room which has a number of "blemishes" and when it arrived I loved it so much I used it to finish the spare bedroom I had been trying to decide how to complete. I am now ordering more to do the living room. It's relatively easy to work with but can be challenging to cut once wet. I am going to paint it today. Looks fresh, clean and new. Great fix for old walls.

I like the paper, but it is really difficult to put up. It kept tearing.

I really like this wallpaper. It's so thick that it will cover just about anything. I had gouges in my wall, but you'd never know after I put this up. The abstract pattern also allowed me to run wallpaper horizontally as well as vertically which really helps if you have a very short, long wall (I have a 8' long wall that's only 4"). Although it is adhesive backed I used vinyl over vinyl wallpaper paste, so no peeling here. I don't trust adhesive backed papers on their own. Wallpaper will peel on you easily enough, so use the strongest adhesive you can if you want it to last! I haven't painted this, but it will be a nice option down the road if it starts to get dirty or discolor.

Avoid this cheap wallpaper. Save yourself from hassle and headache and a Horrendous mess!I have used wallpaper to decorate for 40 years. Not an expert here; just experienced.Followed the printed instructions as written.By far, the worst wallpaper I’ve ever used.Thin, rips easily, the glue was almost nonexistent. It was a humongous mess and wouldn’t stick to the wall. Had to tape in place with painter’s tape to keep it from peeling right off the wall!!Almost never write reviews, but felt strongly enough about this terrible product that I should warn others about it.

I wanted to balance the coverage given by a previous reviewer, as we did not have any trouble with the product tearing or changing color. It looks a bit brown before it dries, but it goes on easily enough if you know what you are doing. We used a roller in water to wet the product down, made "books" out of it and stuck it in a plastic bag for 10 timed minutes. It then stuck just fine and we brushed the paper down. Any bubbles seemed to dry out. I haven't painted it yet but we did try the color on a swatch and I think it will look just fine when finished. If you like white walls it can be used "as is". All wallpaper is not easy to do and this was no exception. I recommend watching some youtubes and reading about it before you do it!

Upon purchasing this wallpaper the pattern looks really nice. When it came time to wet the paper it was saturated thin and kept tearing. There were several parts where I had to piece it together because of the tears. I’m probably going to have to buy more. Because I have three strips Hall I know already I’m going to be out of paper. The next strip I do I’m going to spray it with water instead of immersing it in the wallpaper trowel.

This paper is amazing. I have not wallpapered before, but I am a carpenter-measure and cut, it's all the same. I sprayed (soaked) the back of the paper folded as recommended for 10 minutes. I had the walls primered already. The paper slides around a little, so it's good for lining the paper up. I gently rubbed out any bubbles. Leave any trimming until the next day, the wet paper tears VERY easily. I then painted. It transformed a beaten up, 95 year old wall into thing of beauty. Any rips, tears or even patches are completely invisible. Highly recommend.

BrewsterSpazzare Swept Plaster Paintable wallpaper was easy to install and adhered well except where we had to overlap. However, part of the order was defective. On March 18, 2023 I sent the following message to Brewster:We received 5 double rolls of this wallpaper. 4 of the 5 rolls were defective. After it dried, there were streaks on 3 of our 4 walls. We were going to leave the paper white, but we were forced to paint it due to the streaks.We have used this paper before & left it white for years. We have ordered more for another room & it is fine.We would like a refund please, as a replacement of product is of no value to us now.I have pictures of the streaky walls, if you require them.

Bought this wallpaper to use in kitchen. I have bought and used textured wallpaper before but when applying this paper, it became very soft and it ripped at corners when squeegeeing out bubbles. It is thin. Haven't painted yet but sure hoping it can withstand paint!

Nice bright white and no pattern matching necessary. Prepasted and easy to use. Very happy with this wallpaper.
