Not for large breeds.
This is definitely not for a large dog! I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback and it barely removes enough nail to be worth the time. That being said it is amazingly quiet and I'm actually able to use it without her struggling to pull away. BUT! I also habituated her to it's noise with plenty of treats for a week before touching her with it. When I did begin to use it, it was only for 1 second and I gradually have increased the time. 4 stars is for how amazingly quiet it is. If the grit size were larger it would be 8 stars! If the company wants to make one with a large grit size I'd buy it in a heartbeat...but as it is it's just not enough. I'm doing a short session daily and it will be better than nothing. I did have to use a Dremel to widen the opening because her nails were to big. One a dog the size of say an Australian cattle dog it would be ideal. It will be a gateway purchase for me until I can find a more robust system. It works great, charges easily, is indeed quiet...just not a large breed dog instrument.

Works great
My dog is a Chihuahua. Doesn't like his nails done. This trimmer is quite and perfect for his small nails. Its easy to handle in one hand. Definitely recommend and would buy it again.

Dog freaked out!
I thought this would work well and it probably does but my pup freaked when I touched her nails although she let me rub her with it to get her accustomed to the sound and vibration. I should have introduced it when she was much younger (8 months old).

Not for bigger dogs nails
We love the tool , low noise, size and ease of use however our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers nails are a little too wide and tough for this delicate tool. The charge only lasts two paws which is inconvenient for multiple dogs!Back to the dremel

Not worth the effort
It was quiet but didnt grind down the nails that good for a larger breed dog with thick nails. It was ok for a little dog but takes time, so it is very time consuming. I would rather pay the money to a vet then use this. Not very powerful and if you try to apply pressure to get it to grind down, it will shut off. Good for sending down sharp nails after a fresh cut with the typical dog clippers but not to grind down thicker nails.

This is a terrible junk grinder.
Junk, won’t hold charge, falls apart. I ordered 1 a year ago with extra grinding heads. Junk! A few months ago I ordered another of the Same one since I had all the extra supplies. Thinking the first one was just a lemon. Wrong!!! 2nd one is the same piece of junk as the first. I’m out a lot of money for junk. I’m now looking fora a different brand. Don’t waste your time on this grinder!
