1. Chaturtha Pranayama 2. Introduction to Prana Nidra. Chaturtha Pranayama is both a meditation practice and a pranayama (breathing practice), combining awareness of breath, the mantra OM, and the chakras (subtle energy centres of the body). Chaturtha Pranayama (pranayama of the fourth state), means a transcendental state beyond words. It leads to a deeper awareness and understanding of the chakras and is a useful preparation for more advanced meditation practices. The introductory practice of Prana Nidra combines awareness of breath, chakras (subtle energy centres) and nadis (energy channels). It provides a solid foundation for Prana Vidya and other advanced meditation practices.

Fine yoga exercises
This fine release contains guidance for two mediation practices in the tradition of the renowned Bihar School of Yoga. One for sitting and one for lying down in the corpse pose. Both dealing with the 'psychic pathways', streams of energy in the body. And although these are 'imaginations' they do - like the chakras - also have an existential reality to them. There is no music on this release, only the competent and reassuring voice of Pragyamurti. Clearly a woman who 'knows' what she is talking about. I like especially that she gives the practioner room and time to do the exercises in their own tempo.Clearly aimed at intermediate students with some previous knowledge of yoga, chakras, sanskrit.Once information like this would have been guarded with great secrecy. Now you can just put the CD on a do it in yourn living room.

Excellent Guided Meditation Techniques
These two guided meditations do require that you are familiar with the names and positions of the Chakras on the sushumna nadi within the spinal column to be able to follow the directions narrated by Pragyamurti. Her soft, steady voice perfectly compliments these delicate meditation practices and leads you to a sublime state of deep, restful alertness or 'transcendence'. Prana Nidra is a great practice for winding down after a hectic day and Chaturtha Pranayama could easily be adopted as a regular mediation practice. Highly recommended for those interested in effective meditation techiques.
