Its ok - does what it should if you have A LOT of patience to figure out the setup
It’s a bit too fiddly and with most kids having mobile phones I cant see them wanting to wear this around their necks and risk looking uncool. Its also rather creepy wanting to spy on your kids. There is a fine line between safety, concern and obsessive control and deprivation of privacy.Setup is also way too fiddly as the instructions are not at all clear.I would rather put the money towards a cheap smartphone.

not the most easy tracker to set up which will Discourage lots of people
it takes time to set it all up and sometimes stops working intermittently which is quite annoying. It’s nice that the tracker itself looks just like a normal pendant for style and doesn’t look like a GPS tracker. The sound is necessary though gets annoying

Early days review
The Micodus personal tracker looks like a great product, it's well packaged and the pendant feels reasonably solid. As other reviewers have commented it is real pig to set up. The instructions are very much in pigeon English leaving the user to fathom out what to do. However, with some google searches there are various forums to help and the odd video or two. The key is to set up the APN on the sim by texting a message in a prescribed format to the new sim inserted in the tracker. Once you send the correct message you get a reply from the tracker and you're good to go.It's very much early days for me so I may add to this review in due course but at present I am not impressed with the accuracy and consistency of the device. Often when I open the app it will show the tracker as 25-100 m away from me whilst I'm holding it. When I tested it by walking around the block it started well by appearing right by me but then all of a sudden it appeared to be several miles away from me. 5 minutes later and it appeared 3 miles away in a completely different direction to the first incorrect reading. As I bought the device to track my elderly mother who suffers from dementia, accuracy is of paramount importance. I don't mind 10 - 20 metres as a tolerance but to suddenly show the tracker to be several miles away is totally unacceptable.I bought the sim card recommended by Amazon (a giffgaff sim for £0.01 which has a £5 credit on it) to use with the tracker. I now need to do some further testing to see whether the accuracy and consistency of tracking improves and if not whether this is down to the sim, network or the tracker.OK I didn't persevere that long! I tested the tracker all day today, including uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No matter what I did the accuracy of the tracker remained wildly out. It may well be that I have just got a rogue unit as some others reviewing the product haven't experienced the same problem once they have got the unit to work. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time to continue trialling the product so I have returned it for a refund.

A Very Good and Accurate Tracking Solution
After a lengthy and quite complicated setup this device does work exactly as expected!!But the setup is very long and confusing with the main instructions not very clear at all.I found information online very helpful in setting up the Tracker. After setup is done, it works very well and I have tested it at different locations and it always worked, I also gave it to my friend and told her to drive around for an hour, she did and the tracker did actually tracked her movements, I would ring my friends phone, she told me where she was and the tracking software showed exactly the correct point on the map screen. If you are in need of a tracking solution this one does work really really well!! Providing you can get through the setup ok, once that’s done it works like a charm, every time!!

pretty useless
I had fun in setting it up, but: it keeps track of the real location only when you send a command (and only some commands, like asking, via website, the software version), and at the same time the battery keeps draining. The GPS mode is almost always off (90% of the time is in LBS).SOS does not trigger any call and does not send messages 80% of the times. The only think that works well is the call: I can call it, and it answer correctly.I think it is extremely buggy.I contacted MICODUS for support and they do not answer. There is "mode" setting, where I can tell the device to send location even every minute, but now, for example, I got the last position of 8 hours ago (60 km far).Sorry for 1 star, but it's extremely unreliable. I'm travelling with family in a remote place and I have it in case of emergency, but I am afraid that, if necessary, it could be pretty useless.
