Not made from recycled beer cans
So after breaking another “China” horseshoe on my first game ( good thing I had 3 spares from my other set that I broke a horseshoe) I wanted to get a real made in USA steel set. Upon opening the box, I was not disappointed. The weight, finish, and overall quality seemed well worth it. I highly recommend this set, and hopefully will be my last set purchased, as long as my over served brother doesn’t lose one in the trees. As stated in previous reviews, it it a shoes only set, and pins are separate.

I like the way the shoes look and feel. I am very happy with them! The only thing you might want to keep in mind is that they do not come with the pin. It may say that somewhere, but I never saw it. But the shoes, they are great!!

Great set of horseshoes as long as you don’t need the stakes.
I bought these horseshoes for my husbands birthday party. After reading tons of reviews I went with these and hoped they’d hold up. They have been great so far. They did get banged up within the first night, but not a big deal. The BIGGEST downfall is no stakes! Luckily my husband had something that worked out perfectly, otherwise it would have been $10 spent at Lowe’s.

Well made castings.
Some of the cheaper horseshoes can be made of porous castings, breaking under the right conditions. The steel appears to be well made, and tapping them to hear the ring, lets you get an idea if there are voids or cracks that could make horseshoes fail if they hit a hard surface by accident.

Great all around shoes
Great shoes that solid metal. Only issue is after a few months the colored coating is coming of in a few spots.

Average quality, and about 2.1lbs/per-shoe.
I was hoping for lighter weight shoes, as "tournament" horseshoes are just too hard on the joints for normal people. But lo, these are a full 2.1lbs each, just like practically all of the others. I really want to find a set of "traditional" horseshoes, suitable for older people and children, not these overweight behemoths.But given what they are, thus far they look okay. The factory paint isn't perfect -- some rust spots and missing/chipped paint from the factory.
