Excellent
This is a great product because it has terrific hold and it washes out really easily. A lot of times it comes out just with conditioner.

The Answer To My Hair Product Search
I just got my first faux hawk haircut, and have been trying different styling products left and right. Some were too gooey, some made my hair feel crusty, and some didn't dare to hold up my hair (the top is like 3-4 inches). I also dance, exercise, etc, so I needed something that could hold up all day. I bought maybe 20 or so different options to try, took notes on each, and ranked them on the qualities I needed. Granted, everyone has different hair needs. For me though, this is an amazing product. It keeps the hair flexible, yet holds strong. It has a matte look and provides texture and spikiness without being crusty. It does not make my allergies go mad. It also washes out SUPER easily! Best of all, it has a delicious, vanilla-like fragrance that I just love to smell. Bonus points- I found out if applied on dry hair and I use a fine tooth comb or brush to brush my hair into shape, it will stay up all day with just the one product! Before, I was using a base volume product to blow dry hair, then add a second product. Now I can just let my hair air dry, and put a little of this in! The big jar is also an amazing value. Thank you so much for this product, Layrite.

Strong Hold That Lasts All Day
This pomade holds really well without feeling too heavy or greasy. It keeps my style in place all day and still washes out easily.

Hold is great but scent is a deal breaker
What a shame, this stuff styles my hair amazingly well but the scent, oh my god it's so bad. I can't believe so many people actually like it. My wife hated it as well and has basically banned me from using this again. It's like this sweet vanilla syrupy gross smell and you can smell it for a couple hours until it fades. Guys want to smell like pancakes? Forget the cream soda description. Again, the hold factor and style performance is fantastic so I'm disappointed. Products from Oribe smell amazing and then there are mostly unscented clays from Hanz de Fuko that are pretty neutral and unoffensive. So again, it works very well as long as you're ok with smelling like a sweet desert.Edit: Ok I realized I used way too much the first time which made the smell stronger. If using a much smaller amount it's not that bad or perhaps I'm just getting used to it. Still dislike the smell but it works so well I can tolerate it. Added one star back on.

Solid Hair Product
Have used a ton a different clays but this is one always tops them. The smell is great, there’s not if any shine. Little goes a long way. Super easy to wash off. Easily worth the money!

One of the Best
Layrite delivers on the promise of high hold, matte finish, and easily washes out. It also smells great, doesnt weigh your hair down, adds great texture, and is very easy to work with a comb or brush. You wont find yourself pulling hard on your hair when styling. The only negative some might see is that you'll need a little bit more product than many other brands. Layrite has a thick consistency and requires more time to warm and apply. It really isnt a big deal. It is actually how a hair clay should be, but if youre previously using an inferior product you'll probably be a little annoyed initially. In the end, you will be happy with Layrite. If you've been searching, this is it.

Just doesn't work well on my fine hair
I had high hopes for this since it had the word "cement" in it, but it just didn't hold my fine hair like I wanted. It does okay to add a little lift and body, but no where near the hold or texture that I was looking for. I've tried a few products just like this one (Reuzel, Victory) and they all promise high/extreme hold, but in reality they seem to make my hair soft and slightly greasy/waxy feeling. If I run my hands through my hair, or even touch it, I feel like I have to go wash my hands. I've found a few better options that were marketed as "dry clay" and those seem to work better for me ... no greasy feeling and a lot more hold. My favorite is STMNT dry clay - it really works great on my hair. I had read great reviews on this Layrite product, so I wanted to try it, but it just didn't work out for me - I think I just stick with the dry clay products
