Love this but you do need to make sure you ...
Love this but you do need to make sure you stick with it and keep using it regularly. Some reviewers say they've been left with bruises but i haven't found that just that the area is slightly sore after use.It does hit you with some force when you are spinning it round but juts power through and slowly build up the length of time you do it for and you'll surprise yourself how long you can keep going for fairly quickly. If you use it whilst watching tv or a film it helps the time go by much quicker.Never used one before and don't do a lot of exercise at all.Breaks down easily if you want to store it in a box but i just throw it under the sofa or bed and find that easier then taking it apart when i'm finished.I would say you need to make sure you give your self plenty of space to use it so you don't have the same mug of tea flying incident i did after I underestimated space required!

This product is amazing! Easy to fit together and nice and heavy
This product is amazing! Easy to fit together and nice and heavy. I can already hoop, but the extra weight makes it feel easier. It is definitely easier to practice hooping from "the other side" with this. Also it is easier to use two hoops. The lighter hoops pull at your skin and can leave you a little itchy afterwards if you hoop in just a sports bra. This doesn't do that, it is very comfortable. I have bought this to knock off the belly flab and I know it will do the trick. I'll be sore in the morning after an hour on this but it will be worth it. I highly recommend this product

Don't buy this hoop
Do not but this hula hoop, it is extremely uncomfortable to use because of the undulations, I started with heartburn after using it for a week.I have had terrible burping and think I have ended up with a hiatus hernia, it has taken the best part of 5 months to get nearly back to normal.I was used to hooping , been doing it for 10 months , started on 1.5 kg hoop then went onto 1.8kg before trying this one at 2 kg but with undulations( couldn't find a smooth one at 2kg) so be very carful and don't use if you are slightly built - I weigh 8.30 stones, hope this stops anyone else from getting injured.

Love this!
Yes, it's agony at first, but persevere! I've followed other reviewers' advice and removed a section. It still hurt to start, but now after my 4th session (10 minutes a time) it's completely fine. My hula hooping has definitely improved. I can go one way for the full 5 minutes and only have to restart 2 or 3 times the other way. Soon I will add back in the other section. Don't let the idea of it hurting put you off! Get hula hooping!

Ouch........
Well, it took me an evening in on my own without my boyfriend there to laugh at me to master this. Have finally managed to keep it going but boy does it hurt. Can't wait to use it again though to see if it is going to do me good and help me shape up around my waist but it's early days. Am definitely going to keep using it now though as it really good fun. As usual, swift delivery from Amazon.

my adult kids got lots of huge bruises which I'm glad to say I did not
Took some time getting used to it, my adult kids got lots of huge bruises which I'm glad to say I did not. It was fun and no doubt it would do what you want to buy it for but it hurt my back and I couldn't continue, however the rubber split very quickly so not as well made as it should have been. I wouldn't let that stop you buying though.

Good product
This is a really good product. I don't know whose tape measure they're using, but the diameter is larger than 1m. However, the hoop is still manageable.I wasn't bruised after using the hoop, but I do have one of those protective waist belts; however, I was a bit sore.A good way to tone the abdomen, and a perfect exercise for watching TV at the same time!

PAIN!
Oh my goodness, this hurts so bad. Not the burn type pain you get from working out but a 'i have a very heavy thing smashing against my hips' type pain. I'd say my pain threshold is pretty high but this is bad. I want to get used to it as I can tell it will be worth it but at the moment it's a task to be brave enough to pick the thing up!
