Fairly good paper......
... but far too many designs featuring 'merfolk' especially mermaids! Rather see more crabs and corals personally! Also, even though I'm new to this 'colourist' lark (albeit enjoying it) the designs here seem more for children's enjoyment, so am going to buy a couple more Millie Marotta and Johanna Basford next

I absolutely LOVE this colouring book
WOW! I absolutely LOVE this colouring book. Jessica Palmer has a way of combining all the elements that makes these kind of books so appealing. Her exquisite imagery and obvious attention to detail creates page after page of pure escapism. The theme of Tangle Bay allows you to drift off to an idyll of coves and waves lapping at your feet, each picture has such a feelgood air that makes you want to just keep on colouring to see how the different colours lift these intricate images from the pages. I cannot recommend this enough. I purchased Tangle Wood (Jessica Palmer's first book ) when it was recommended to me by a friend who has tried a lot of the colouring books on the market and I was completely in awe of the pleasing imagery and how it relaxed me.I was hoping this would have the same effect and it absolutely does! My friend , much more the expert on colouring books, pitches both the Tangle books right at the top for their quality and the depth of the detail - you can return to a page and find another element you may not have first spotted. If I could give TEN stars I would! Absolutely wonderful book. I'd recommend taking this onto the beach on holiday instead of a paperback!

Another beautiful "Tangle" book.
I love Jessica Palmers first book "Tangle Wood". I know that the paper and detail wasn't to everyone's style but I love that look it have a whimsical feel to the illustrations. Tangle Bay is just as beautiful. There are some differences between the two books that I noticed and a clear one is the paper. This time it is white and of a great quality. I used fibre tips, gel pens, fineliners and not a single bit of bleed through or shadowing. The lines are much crisper than in the first book and even though I loved the effect of that I love the crispness here just as much. The images are less intricate in places which works really well for the rest of the changes. One thing I would say when I was colouring my image with pencils and pressing hard there was some ink transfer from the image on the other side. So I would recommend something placed between the pages of you are going to be using some pressure. It does no diminish the image at all but something worth noting.Would highly recommend this book at its beautiful images.

Quirky book that will make you smile
I had read many reviews of this book before buying it and I love its perfectly square size and the fact it can lay flat without affecting the spine. Apparently, that's what 'flexibound' means. Who knew?!Anyway, I have used cheapo Scribblicious gel pens in the book, along with dearer Tombows and the like and none have bled through onto the next page. This is good news for anyone like me who is a bit of a hoarder when it comes to various types of pens. As long as they are water-based (although that isn't specified on the Scribblicious pens so unsure about those) you should not have a problem.I love the paper quality, very bright white and smooth to the touch. It really is a joy to colour in and it makes a nice change colouring in a book with a beach/sea theme. Quirky too. For example, I've never seen fish with hats on before but I like it. The whole point of the book is to make people smile and it has done! Awesome!

A bit Basic
Nice book cover and paper is decent but when I opened the book to look at the images I was sorely disappointed. They appear very basic and childish to me. Tangle Wood has more in-depth images. I know that a lot of people enjoy this Artists work but it simply does nothing for me. An expensive item to bin.

Tangle bay colouring book ,
Having already bought tangle wood I knew the size and format of this book, l really like it ,it's slightly smaller than other colouring books but the pictures are really nice.the paper is slightly different this time as are some of the designs ,there seems to be an issue with people who prefer white or cream colour paper ,personally I like both .Quite unusual ,I like this style of hidden treasures and lovely pictures to colour nice if you want a change from just animals and flowersAs you can fell the theme and story as you colour ,l hope there are more to come in this series.

A bit childish.
I found the pictures in this book a bit silly . I did not like the style of moons with faces on . The size is a tad smaller than the JB or Mm books and the paper is good quality though . Not one for me I'm afraid .
