Amazon needs to take more care in boxing
Taste great, shortbread crust is wonderful except that the way the box was packed ended up breaking most of these tarts. Too expensive to be treated so poorly.

Do not buy.
Not Good. The micemeat is dry inside the crust, and the entire crust arrived smashed in small pieces. Even just a few weeks past Christmas and these appear and taste stale. Avoid.

Nice flavor, nice size
I bought these on a whim since I hadn't had any mincemeat in quite some time. The shortbread crust was interesting, since I like their shortbread cookies anyway. The mince is nice, not quite as good as my grandmother's recipe, but one of the best commercial mince tastes that I have found. Overall, I am enjoying them and will definitely buy them again next Holiday season. This is a nice size for a snack. It is smaller than a slice of pie, but enough without being overpowering. The downside is that they were shipped in a box with some other items, and they were somewhat broken during shipping. I still enjoyed them, but it would have been better if they weren't broken.

A taste of home at Christmas Time
I love mince pies, grew up with them during Christmas every year, over here I am really the only one that enjoys them, as most American's don't like them, so I have not made any homemade ones for years. I have never had mince pies by Walker's before, but love their shortbread, of course. They are delicious, the mincemeat is soft and juicy in the most wonderful rich short crust pastry. I highly recommend them to any expat wanting a delicious nostalgic taste of home for the Holidays.

A Tad Disappointing
Walker's Mini Mincemeat Tarts: Hmmm. I'd like more spice. It's very sweet, more like a Fig Newton. Has a cookie-like crust, not a pie crust (these are the Shortbread people, so that makes sense.). Doesn't have that strong mincemeat taste that I love, barely a hint of it. On the other hand, this is something I can eat without sending my blood sugar into the stratosphere. They are almost $15 for 6 tartlets, from Amazon. So not cheap. Not awful, just a bit disappointing. I guess for a holiday treat, they're okay.

Mincemeat Tarts Are a Little Taste of Heaven!
Since no one in my immediate family, particularly cared for mincemeat while I was growing up, I had never tasted it until I was about 32 years old. A coworkers wife had made Christmas cookies and sent them to work with her husband. I tried one of them that looked like a little triangle of crust wrapped around some kind of filling. The taste hit me like a brick. I loved that cookie so much. I asked my boss whose wife had made the cookie what that cookie was. When he said it was mincemeat I was blown away, literally. For a few years, I was able to find mincemeat pies in the frozen food section that you could bake at home and I would get one around Christmas time. In the last few years, I have checked every grocery store I could think of and did extensive searching online with no mincemeat pies available anywhere. I found these mincemeat tarts on Amazon and saw that they were made in Scotland no less . I figured they had to be excellent because mincemeat pies had originated in the UK. I ordered two boxes and they didn’t get here by Christmas but that was absolutely no problem. They came a couple days after Christmas and they were in perfect condition. When I opened the box , I was afraid they were going to be all broken like some of the reviewers had said. Actually, I was sure it wouldn’t impair the taste so I figured it’s not a problem. When I opened the box, they were in perfect condition, every last one of them. Also , when I got to the second box, they also were in perfect condition. I could easily have given them as a gift if I had wanted to. Anyway, these little tarts are positively scrumptious. I may not wait until the holidays to order them again, since they are available on Amazon. I have no problem waiting a little extra time to receive them. If you love mincemeat and Scottish shortbread, you will absolutely love these tarts. Be good to yourself, and order some soon.
