Awesome for a slicked back ponytail. With the product, hair doesn't appear wet/slick, but it keeps everything neat, taming any/all flyaways. Appearance is non-greasy with a nice sheen. It also has a lovely scent.

Love the texture

The "Free Hold" is hands down the best hair styling paste. It smells great, people always compliment. It's easy to apply and the packaging is stylish, but more importantly is functional and secure especially when traveling. I have traveled the world and always buy different hair styling products from different countries and nothing comes close to this Free Hold. It's really well made.

This works, but the Hard To Get by TIGI works much better. They no longer make that, so I have to find something comparable. I’ll use this for awhile. At least until my hairstylist recommends something else. Expensive for the amount you get.

I have used a lot of products and this one is the best. My barber recommended it, and I agree that it exceeds the alternatives in every way.

A little bit goes a long ways, great product, good hold , put a little shine on your hair

This product itself is amazing. I would give the product five stars. I went with one star because the photos show a larger size item. I think all of the photos in the array all show a larger size item. The description does say travel size but I honestly don’t know a travel size from a regular size so it didn’t help me until I showed up and saw it was a tiny shrunken version of what I was looking for.

With Murphy's Gritty Business long discontinued and my supply finally running out, I branched out to Free Hold, which is on the less hold side of the Murphy product spectrum which once flanked Gritty Business. With a creamy texture, it spreads smoothly, and while it lacks Gritty Business's hold and matte texture, Free Hold does leave hair soft to the touch to the point where you can't tell there's product in it. With the lighter hold, it'll work best with cuts that only need a little boost. The size is convenient for travel, but also less a commitment if you don't know if you'll like it or not.
