JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL, BUT WHAT'S WITH THE PRICE????
I love this. I bought the bottle that is pictured in the ad back in 2013 for about $11.00. And now it's closer to $70. It's not worth that much. Just like Cachet by Prince Matchabelli. I purchased that from Amazon five years ago as well for less than $18 a bottle. Now they want $234.00 for the same bottle. Definitely not worth it. It was a great smelling cheap perfume when I first bought it back in the early 80's, and it's still a great smelling but cheap perfume. I'd buy both again but not at a scalper's price. They can keep it. There are tons of reasonably priced cheap perfumes on the market to choose from.

Lovely classic scent
Soft, powdery and spicy. It's pretty inoffensive in my opinion. I also think it's a great unisex scent. When I first bough it I thought it was too masculine, and gave it to my husband. It smelled divine on him. Alas, he doesn't like oriental scents, and I've since reclaimed it for myself. I would bathe in this stuff if I could. It smells just like Dr. Pepper to me, with a pinch of powdered sugar. The price is awesome for such a classic example of the oriental genre of fragrances. I can't even purchase this in stores, and so I was happy to have found it here on Amazon.

Way too expenssive
My mother used to buy these in the '80s for$7.95 at the corner pharmacy. Her mother used to buy the powder in the '40s for far less. The price is just ridiculously crazy - taking advantage of the fact that Coty no longer produces this. If you are looking for a perfume that's as close as possible to this, try Guerlain's L'heure Bleue. It's also expensive, but this is my mother's new signature scent, after a lifetime of using L'Origan.

When the House of Coty was great
Before it became the premiere purveyor of "they-all-smell-alike" celebrity stinks, Coty was the most innovative and creative of all the perfume houses. L'Origan is one of the reasons why. L'Origan is a spicy floral with good sillage and long lasting power(If you want to know what it smells like, go the drugstore and smell the Coty Airspun powder -- it is scented with L'Origan). Over 100 years later it is still one of the great fragrances. But, alas: it has been discontinued but still readily availabe from Amazon at a very reasonable price. Buy several bottles, stock up. BTW, on me, L'Origan smells exactly like Guerlain's much more expensive L'Heure Bleue. You might want to compare the two and purchase accordingly.

Flowery chemicals not close to the original
I wore this for a number of years and my Grandmother wore it all the time. I was so excited to see this comeback, but it was shortlived. I have a pretty sensitive nose and I can say without a doubt, this is NOT the old L'Origan. I sprayed a little on a tissue and all I could smell was some flowery chemically contrived fragrance. I had my daughter smell it with the tissue and she had the same reaction I did: an instant stab in the head. I would have given no stars if I could. I am glad for everyone who liked it and thought it was the same, but my nose says different. I think sometimes when a product is removed and brought back by popular demand, it is not the same. I can say the same about certain cereal. The company seems willing to have it returned since I asked by email. I hope I can, however, since it had been sprayed, I am thinking I cannot. They said if it had not been used. How can one test a fragrance except by spray. I can smell the outside of a sample spray in a store without spraying since the odor is on the outside. I have a good nose, but can't smell through glass. Oh, well, I will let everyone know if I get to return it, but I saw another reviewer say they couldn't return theirs.

Classic Perfume
Better than I even imagined it would be, a lovely soft fragrance, a bit of citrus, slightly incense smokey, and a little powdery, a great scent. I am only 31 but I love the classics perfumes, they make me feel chic & feminine. In fact, very few of the modern perfumes impress me today, true there are a few good ones out there, but the prices are almost always overblown for the quality. Whereas many of the classic perfumes you can get at a great bargain, and the quality and fragrance are far superior. This scent is unique and feminine which is what I look for in a perfume. I really like it.

Pale tint of the original French classic, but pleasant.
Received my bottle today of the current formula of Coty L'ORIGAN in the cologne spray. Yes... it's just the palest tint of what the fragrance used to be; I'm lucky to also have a decant of some 1960's-vintage parfum-de-toilette for comparison. To be fair, the label DOES say "cologne", and one can never expect an $11.00 eau-de-cologne to have the depth, dimension and substantivity of an EDP. This modern version has the fundamental quality of vintage L'ORIGAN, but all the notes here are "accordioned" together, so they do not "unfold" impressively as the vintage might. Just as some have predicted, the new version almost completely lacks the signature eugenol/clove note-- forbidden by current IFRA statutes--- that, truth told, was the raison d'etre of the scent on its debut in 1904. Curiously, the marzipan/heliotropin foundation seems kissed here by nutmeg, black pepper, the violet ionones and some slight "green" notes (coriander, probably). The sweet vanilla/wintergreen one would like is just not appearing here. I wouldn't go so far as to say the scent is "ruined" here-- the remaining notes do have a natural, organic quality that please me more than most modern releases do--- but it's certainly lacking the vividness and depth of vintage L'ORIGAN. I will wear this just as a pleasant, light, tous-les-jours cologne, not expecting anything more of it.

Beautiful Lady
I love the fragrance, when I was young, a lady used laorigan and it reminds me of her. She was very dear to me. I use nothing but laorigan, it is my favorite scent.
