Beginners Modern Calligraphy Kit - Kirsten Burke Luxury Calligraphy Starter Gift Set - Nibs, Ink, Fantastic Lesson plan

I am very impressed with the quality of this calligraphy kit. The box is attractive and strong, so I’ll be using that to store my work in once I’ve got going. I think the lessons included and the fact that you can view videos too means I feel almost like I’m at a workshop. There’s a huge amount in this kit, so that is great as well. Theres things to trace, some cards with colourful envelopes and a couple of different nibs to try out. I can’t wait to get started, a really inspirational collection of tools and information.

I had previously sent for the Monte Marte Calligraphy Set and returned that because the quality was awful. This set is miles ahead quality wise. To be honest I’m taken aback by the negative reviews for this. All items were in the box. It feels so much more sturdy than the previous set. I bought it via Amazon Warehouse and all the contents were there, only the outer label was damaged. The box itself is nice and strong and ideal for long term storage of the set. I’m going to buy other nibs by the company as my only gripe is the two which come with the set are too similar.

This calligraphy kit is presented beautifully. Just the box it comes in is gorgeous and of good quality and everything inside it does not disappoint. There are some nice details such as a cute tin nib box and a ceramic pen rest. It’s a fantastic introduction to calligraphy with all the instructions being very clear and the art of calligraphy explained well. Bought for myself but would make a lovely gift.All in all great for inspiration and for experimenting!

I have now found and been able to find examine and read the new Calligraphy Kit which I think is absolutely fantastic.It is clear and concise and worth every pennyI have no hesitation in recommending it to others

Beautiful Box, packed FULL of goodies. Easy to understand guide book, that you can trace over using the note pad that you get on the set. The inks are nice, and some really lovely templates. And the pen rest? Genius addition! No more dip pens rolling on the floor! thank you!

Nib was rusted and the pen came in with a crack. If these two issues were not there then the product would be good. Unfortunately daughter already started using the notebook etc so its a bit late to return the item.

I bought two of these, one for myself & one as a present. The kits are well presented, in a nice box, however there was a small cardboard sleeve round each box which was ripped and creased on both of them - I just removed the sleeves, they look good enough without it. One of the boxes was also damaged on one corner, badly enough that I wouldn't have given that one as a gift.Good quality materials inside, and the actual pen, nibs, ink and ceramic pen rest were well protected.

I really wanted to like this kit. However, the paper quality is poor and likely the ink would take forever to dry because of the sheen. Included are cards with a quote in calligraphy. Does that mean I just trace over the quote and pop it in the mail? The flimsy "manual" is not very functional. To me this is not a starter kit.
