Paradigm Monitor SE 2000C Center Channel Speaker (Matte Black)

Paradigm has been around for decades and is a very underrated company. Their speakers, even their entry level line, produces sound that is above and beyond what others in this price range and configuration offer.My dad used to have a pair of Monitor 7 floor standing speakers and their sound was superb. After owning a 5.1 setup consisting of NHT SuperOnes, a SuperCenter, and a Klipsch KSW-12 subwoofer that served admirably for over 20 years, I decided to purchase these Monitor SE Atoms and a Monitor SE 2000C expecting an upgrade in sound and I was not disappointed!There are some things to be mindful of, though. First, these speakers are ported versus enclosed. This means that they have a higher sensitivity rating, which allows them to pair easier with a wider gamut of amplifiers/receivers, regardless of budget. However, by being ported, these Paradigms are more sensitive to placement. If you place them too close to reflective surfaces, such as walls, glass window panes, etc., they will sound boomy and muffled. It all depends on what your room configuration allows. Second, even though they have a 5.25" woofer cone, they are huge. My NHT's had a 6.5" woofer and were smaller in almost every dimension due to their enclosed nature. Third, these speakers are rated to produce sound down to around 60Hz, so one might be tempted to rush and purchase a subwoofer. Of course, for Low Frequency Effects during movies and if you want to produce proper sound down to the 20Hz range, a subwoofer will be a must. However, when properly placed, the bass in these speakers is tight and present so you might be perfectly happy with just these speakers. Last, these speakers are neutral sounding and revealing, producing the sound exactly as it receives it from the source. If you prefer listening to compressed audio files or to stream music, you will hear the loss that compressing music produces versus lossless audio.All in all, these speakers will sound great without any equalization and fantastic with the required slight adjustments based on your room. These speakers in white look stunning and their build and construction is top notch. Highly recommended.

Seriously, zero complaints. I took a leap and invested in a trusted recommendation. This really does blow away everything I have heard in home theater any where near this price range. Stupendous amount of crystal clear sound! So loud and so very pristine. I bought the White and it has an amazing gloss finish, nice to look at and eye catching value. I Listen to all sorts of music rap, rock, hip hop, death metal, opera, country, a cappella, Live shows, studio recordings, all of them Hi def audio files. Look no further .The sound from these speakers is Sublime! I would say that the 3000's have so much sound that fills the whole home so clearly that I cant see getting the 6000s unless you were in a VERY large space, honestly. Paradigm has made Audiophile equipment very affordable with the Monitor SE line.System: 2x Monitor SE 3000s1x 2000c for the 3.1 effect with games and movies1x Polk audio 10" Sub (another value)running through Dennon AVR X2500.Also the Seller was prompt and I was happy with their effort.

This is used as my center channel speaker I think it sounds really good for it's price!

Sound quality and clarity are excellent - just read the professional reviews. Yes it is no small speaker. The only concern I had going in was the size and hence the placement and any resulting imaging drawing your focus away from the picture. I have it under the TV, and yes, it does draw your attention to it's position if you let it. Not terrible. I will try to position it above the TV and see if that helps. Not sure if angling it up/down would work, but i may give that a try too. Way too deep to try to put it behind the TV - plus it would muffle the sound anyway.

Modern generation of a classic and influential Paradigim model, widely considered to possess acceptable SQ and imaging in the hands of a seasoned audiophile willing to put in the speaker positioning work and room treatments. Great value in today’s market. Very inexpensive, yet delivers movie theater sound at volumes you’ll not likely need. In fact, this speaker plays loud enough to damage your hearing if you insist on not keeping it below 95dBs.

Purchased to round out a surround sound system that consisted of 4 other Paradigm towers. After years of using a different brand, that should have been very good, this speaker woke up the surround experience. Very efficient and loud.

I have always liked how paradigm speakers sound and the monitor 2000c sounds great and very good value for the money. And I'm be getting the 3000ts soon.

Came in manufacturers box, nicely protected. Great addition to my Paradigm system, powerful & loud!
